I'm hoping you're kidding because somethingawful.com is a bunch of stupid idiots with too much time on their hands (aka no lives).

i really think the media is really influencing our culture today. but mainly TV in general.

when you have dandruf (i dont know how to spell it.) and you realize it, what do you often think? Head and shoulders!! how many ads have they had ? tons. i bet theres several hair products that do the job better for half the price, but because of the ads u buy it.

that was just an example, but it relates to most of the ads you see. I have only recently realized that it actually does subconciesly 'brainwash' you into buying the advertisers products.

When there is an election, what do the candidates do? get every peice of dirt they can find on the opposing party and put it on an ad.

It is also teaching kids (and not JUST kids) about the whole sexuality thing. a long time ago you wernt allowed to flash anything, and there was barely any porn. but in all the ads, music clips, and everything, you see girls wearing next to nothing. not just that but theyre all perfect looking and skinny. did you know approximately 28% of teenage suicide is influenced by obecity or being unattractive?

Well if kids stuck to something appropriate for their age level then I bet that 28% of suicide would dwindle to at most 15%. If I ever begin a conversation about TV, usually people start talking about MTV.(Music TeleVision my censored.gif , they only have music videos at 2am.) 12-15 year olds should NOT be watching "MTV"!
