Theres probably life...maybe not intelligent XD
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Hitl1r1 on 2005-08-23 at 02:00:13
They could be stupid for all we know, and live like caveman did and will have a technology breakthrough which will make "UFOs"

ADDITION:
Wooo i have 4th bar and 100th post right now
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Demaris on 2005-08-23 at 02:04:04

that would be odd...
we encounter alien life and the entire race is REALLY REALLY REALLY stupid. they die off all the time but they reproduce really fast.

Guys, we can't be the only intellegent things in the universe -_-

Maybe in our Galaxy, but not the Universe.

And everything evolves, too. Even the Universe itself.

I would really like to think there are other beings in space, I just hope our langangue doesn't translate out to "You SUCK"

Cuase then I think we would just be destroyed sad.gif

There is a chance that even if we found life out there, the race would be completely different then ours. Our race has evolved physically, we developed hands to get food easier, we developed intelligence to hunt.

What if this race we find has absolutely no requirement of food or water? There is other ways to get sufficient energy - sunlight? Maybe we run into life, but mistake it as a boulder ;D

Rather unlikely, but the thought opens up many more interesting scenarios.

Maybe the aliens aren't even carbon based lifeforms. There might be things that are alive, which I mean that they can "think", but we might not consider them to be alive in the sense that they have to breath and eat and have a metabolism or something.

We know more about Space then we know about the Ocean. There could be some type of life in the Ocean that we havent found yet.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by notnuclearrabbit on 2005-08-24 at 09:41:35
We should shut down NASA, they waste our money. We should focus our efforts on exploring the ocean, there's so much of it that we know nothing about. Once we finish researching this planet, then we should go check out what's on other planets.
Well, actually, I'm an idiot. It's not like humans are going to be able to live on this planet for much longer, we've basically runied it to the extent that it's been raped of all it's resources. Now we get to go ruin other planets! If there's alien life there; SCREW THEM! Let's become the terran!

Okay, that was odd...

When we do encounter extra terrestial life, I doubt we'll have any way to communicate with them/it. Anyone see 'Scary Movie 3' That's probably how it's going to be. We'll take their greeting as an act of aggression and then nukwn them, and start an intergalatic war. Go humans! WE SUCK!

I would rather focus on space then the ocean. Like you said we used up most of its resource, and we would have to put all our money on moving to mars. Anyone ever see Red Planet. Worst movie made but thats what we are going to have to do.

Then there is a chance that they might exist, but until the day i see them, i wont believe that they exist.

Kind of like the atheist's view about God. Until you see proof of his existence, you will assume that he doesn't exist wink.gif

I disagree with that because God and Aliens are totally different things. To say aliens exist wouldn't be so impossible since we ourselves were created, so it wouldn't be so farfetched to say that Aliens could have been created the same way as we have. Now to prove that God exists is a whole different story.

I Agree with the alian thing sortof... i dont necessarily belive in alians but something has to be around there could even be another human race in another universe noone knows if this is the only one.But they do say that this is the only planet with water but mars did have water maybe before...but we are not completely sure untill we can travel all around space.

Theres gotta be something out there, think about it for a sec. So many Galaxies, so many solar systems, so many planets, what? You think all that is there to look at? Bah I bet yea theres at least a 0.00000000001 chance that theres a race out there simular to the Protoss, and I intend to find them!

Ok but seriously there probably is a chance that the Protoss exist somewhere. A universe is freaking huge! So many things happen in a second why not the creation of them!?

i seriously doubt theres more a zerg xenomorph kinda thing instead of a high tech toss kinda thing biggrin.gif

Something HAS to be out there? Why do you feel that it is necessary to think that something is out there? What are you gonna do if there isnt? Are you gonna die? Cry?

well in the GIGANTIC GARGANTUAN MASSIVENESS of our universe, there HAS to be something.

simply by probability, a race like the Zerg MIGHT evolve. or the protoss. and then duran comes along....

as in the Xel'naga

I think it would be cool if we came across LV-426 hovering around Zeti II Reticulii

To answer MiLlEnNiUmArMy if there is nothing out there than there is a whole bunch of unneeded space in the Galexy...I just like too assume there is something
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2005-08-28 at 16:39:42
There IS something out there. It just doesn't have to be intelligent. We may be the only intelligent things in the galaxy (Not the universe) but I doubt it. We cannot be the only intelligent things in the galaxy.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MillenniumArmy on 2005-08-30 at 23:25:56
Yes there IS life out there, as in plants and bacteria and that stuff, since we have actually found traces of these things. But when it comes to walking, talking, green aliens with big heads, then that still remains in doubt,
Report, edit, etc...Posted by m2nello on 2005-08-31 at 13:24:58
I believe that there are aliens out there but there is a good chance we may never encounter them because altthough we are looking for them they may not be looking for us

There just has to be life out there because of how big the universe is.

There's no way Earth can be the only one if you look at it mathematically. Say at first it was 1 planet of out 1 quadrillion that had life on it, which was Earth. So the ratio of life existing is 1:1 quadrillion. Since the universe has been expanding and will do so indefinitely, when the size gets to 2 quadrillion planets, 1 more will have life.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Vibrator on 2005-08-31 at 16:08:41
That number is onyl for life evolving the way it did on earth, which is why it is so large. Whats to say that life can't evolve in a different fashion. Mabye a species made of mostly sulfur or another element. So really any planet could technically be a host to life.

I think some of us watch too many alien movies.

Edit: If we have NEVER seen ANY alien movies, read ANY books with aliens, or played ANY games with aliens in them, do you know how different most of yalls opinions about walking, talking, living alien creatures would be?
