I can kindof understand y they were looting in the firstplace but the killing and raping still makes no since. And now the looting is out of hand too so that isnt good I know if I was a marine or a health worker that gives out food or something i wouldnt want to go down there.

I know that some are stealing water and food but that is kinda explainable... But TV's... why would you take a TV? Its not like you can sell it while your down there and its not like its gona work with no power and its not like your going to get out of there for a while... Why take something that has NO value at the moment? Its jsut gona break as soon as it toches water...

I undestrand stealing like a small, I repeat, small amount of food and water just to keep your famliy alive, there is no need to steal TV's, or Pool Tables (Yes I saw some people taking a pool table) Or expensive food, or wine, just normal bread and water is fine, nothing more. Remember, every action has a consequence, which can be good or, bad. (More likely the latter)

you could survive on bread and water but for a limited time u would have to have something diferent every once inawhile but u could live on bread and water

Hell, I'll be stealing TVs and cars, and everything. I just lost my god damn house, and maybe even 1 or 2 of my family members. Sca rew the people I'm stealing from. them. why not to steal?? if ur alone in a city, u have no communication whit the world, u dont have house, is hard to walk in the water... and u see some empty houses whit stuff that might help u to get some money, Takin the stuff in there will help u

SacredElf, they're suppose to LEAVE the city, not stay and steal things they can't even carry and don't have electricity for. Why would anything even have electricity? Stealing a TV would be completely pointless if you can't use it or even carry it easily.

So far, I agree with everything you say DeathKnight. They were told to leave the city, I don't care how poor they are, they should of left, walk if they have to, I am sure some people would be nice enough to take them out of there.

Considering the government didn't do jack when it first all started, if I was there at the time, I'd be looting too. Not for selfish purposes, but to get people medical supplies, food and water.

Bush doesn't want me looting? Tough blam. He should of got up off his ass to start with then.

The people should of left, how ever possible, it is not worth staying there. I don't care if they were poor enough, they should of left.

Anyways, a lot of people think that, on CNN, New Orleans should not be rebuilt, for the fact that it is way to dangerous, I agree with that. New Orleans is below sea level, it is just asking for a Hurricane, it should be only keep as a Memorial. If you check CNN they have a list of comments.

Built below sea level AND draned of marshes and wetlands, not only is it dangerous it's construction now days would be illegal.

Ok, I found all of this pretty interesting:

People in New Orleans were offered a ship to carry 40,000 people to Texas, but since a major group refused, they are delaying it. This tell me that they wanted to stay, and that they want to continue to steal. A lot of the people that lived there that didn't move were on Welfare, and to lazy to get a job, but now since Katrina, people are going to give them money. And they are going to steal. So, we went from no money to more money. wonderful friends, they had an offer to leave the damn city, and a majority of them refused.

The Mayor and Governor are telling them to leave, but they won't, they offer free transportation, but they won't. They are like children.

And finally a Jail has been established, with already 150 low lifes in it. But it isn't like they are going to be treated bad, they will be released later with no charges, getting off Scott Free for stealing TV's and Game Tables. This is sickening me, the people that mainly stayed are bad people, they have a criminal record, and are living on Welfare. Not all of them, but a lot of them. I am so mad at a lot of these ungrateful people, they were given a chance to leave, but no, they prefer to stay as they will.
