I was watchin the news the other day and in New Orleans there have been people getting Looted raped and killed and some looters even took guns. Is it just me or is something wrong here. Your city is like half way under water and your killing n blam.
When the tsunami hit did u hear about people being looted raped or killed?
If u have another opinion please reply.
Censor Evasion.
-KameThere probably was a lot of looting and raping when the tsunami hit. But in north america we don't get a lot of coverage about that type of aftermath unless it hits us.
what class of sick rape people in a sunken city?

Not ALL of the city is under water. There's the massive amount of people in the Super Dome for one.
Personally, it's not right, but it's understandable if it's for something like food and water. For those who're getting guns and breaking open safes, well, it's a good thing there's martial law.
I honestly dont think people were being shot by looters when the tsnami hit. There culture isnt like ours there civalized and dont shoot eachother like we hear about it happening in the ghetto.
(Note): im not callin the ghetto out it happens in alot of other places 2 it was just an example.
Looting for survivol needs (food, bottled water, clean clothes) is alright to me.
Looting for personal profit (TVs, expensive stuff) is not ok. Right now there is Marshall law in the city and I heard the police and soldiers have been cleared to shoot to kill in any fire fight they get into, its jsut that bad down there.
Im telling you, Resident Evil 4 in Raccoon City (New Orleans)

i learned two things from this post;
1 - Obviously didn't know there was raping, looting, and if you didn't hear they had to put extra security around the children to keep them from sexual predators.
2 - stereotype about the ghetto. Please learn something before you type. Not every ghetto has shootings. Every place has a shooting once in a while.

The National Gurd of the State of Lousiana (No Armed forces apply to Marshall Law) cannot shoot anyone under any circumstances unless that a life is at stake and it is deemed necessary. The National Gurd is there only to restore order.
I believe that in those circumstances looting is not wrong. Helicopters are being shot down so that the people below can get those supplies, looting is basically basic needs only. I don't believe anyone will loot expensive electronics and the likes. First off, you won't have eletrical power for 2~3 months, then it's nearly impossible for those refugees to move it once the amphibious trucks come to pick them away.

Umm, resident evil 4 pretty much got rapped up at the end...
I actually don't mind the looting for personal profit, it's not like those things are expensive to make

Well its happening

Many gangs are stealing expensive things and reaping the profits through this disaster by stealing

Sounds like quite the party. But, really, I think about how much of the things will be rendered worthless due to water damage, or simply wash out to sea or be buried in silt for 50 years. I saw it's perfectly fine to take advantage of the situation, the people losing stuff would not have much chance of getting it back anyway. And if they do get it back it would most likely be ruined.

I read someplace that the only shooting homicide in Canada was by an American.

TVs are expensive...Jewlery is expensive..oh Sure, one person steals one piece of jewlery worth $1000..its only $1000..until everyone starts doing it and you begin to multiply that by 100, 200, 300..1000 people stealing one peice of jewlery. It adds up, now, the latest estimates is that the storm will cost 100
Billion Dollars if not more.
Would you still use your television after it was washed with silt and sewage?
It would be better that the Billion dollars in expences gets transferred (stolen) rather than lost.

i was going to say this but u beat me to it
Looting is wrong, but in the end, i'd probobly do it. I'd loot for small stuff, gameboys, food, water, jellery, anything that is small and worth something. Don't get me wrong, i'm not a thief or anything, but in that case over there, why not? No one is ganna catch you the first or second day.

well, at least, no one should catch you...
By the way, i'd defenatly not rape anyone under any circumstance.

Agreed, if u were 2 steal 2 diamonds that were like $4000 a piece and than steal a Tv that is like $2000 it adds up. If u steal and run normally you can be shot at so y is it any differnt now?

Welcome to America! The land of the greedy!
Yeah, because only Americans are affected by greed. Nobody else could EVER possibly have that. DK, I think that is one of the most ignorant things you have ever said. I'm greedy because I live in America? Thanks. Do you think Canada, or any other country for that matter wouldn't do the same, even if it were to a lesser extent?
Yes. I suppose I'm not as ignorant as the people actually looting.
I don't believe I ever compared them to you, or even attempted to justify their actions.
Seriously DK, lay off...
some people like to stereotype, I'm not like that
Would you like if I called you a living-in-igloo syrup eating cold ugly smelly canadian? NO. so just shut up.

The looting is going crazy, you have to feel sorry for the officers, reported on the news, some have even died trying to keep the peace. This is really getting me mad, I am really starting to get pissed off at these freaking ants stealing all these items, and killing, I am really getting mad.
When the National Guard tried to help one family, they were shot at, the thing is, a lot of the people that stayed for the hit, are actually bad people, not the good types. Not all of them may be bad, but I am thinking around Eighty-Five Percent of the people that stayed are bad people, because they just continue to do it.
Oh, and I really like this, "Help us, we are stealing from everywhere we can!" A lot are asking for help, when they are just committing crimes, like I saw some people stealing a game table, I mean, what the hell is with that!? I can somewhat understand taking some bread or something, some small amount of food, but not taking items like there is no tomorrow.
But not all of them are bad, just most of them are.
Once you take away the society that restrains us, what do you think is left? Did William Golding write Lord of the Flies because something like that could never happen?

We do need our enforcement force... Our officers are very important, crime is dangerous enough, even with officers, but without them, I would move straight out of here, and never look back.
