I have 3 classes of about 16, then 1 class of 35 everyday.

My school as alternating days, 90 minute periods. My counseler didn't quite get the concept that more work DOES NOT = more learning. Very sad.

So, in 8th grade I learned NOTHING. No, not kidding. NOTHING. Not one single thing about math. So... WHY THE
DO I NEED TO SPEND AN HOUR AND A HALF OF MY LIFE, PLUS ANOTHER HALF AN HOUR ON WORTHLESS HOMEWORK, LEARNING NOTHING???
Same with Computer Applicaitons...
I knew EVERYTHING they taught in that class. In fact, I can safely say more of that sememster was spent playing Tony Hawk than doing my work since it was SO :censored:ING EASY!!!

This year, I was put into honors Algebra. I'm thinking, woohoo! A challenge at last. So far, I can do absolutely EVERY PROBLEM in my head faster than anyone else can do it on paper. And I get then right virtually every time.
Biology? Learned this stuff in 6th, yes 6th, grade.
English? 7th.
Spanish? The teacher teaches slower than a slug.
On to the electives!!
My shcool is SHORT on electives, so naturally, I have blam for class.
Small Engine Mechanics? I learn how a lawnmower works. Period.
P. E.? Might be the only thing that's actually doing anything for me.
Health Careers? I only took this class to get out of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, and I have no interest in a medical career. Thus, useless.
Yet, here comes the one and ONLY thing I love school for.
Contemporary Issues, AKA Debating Class
It's a real-life school-based version of this very Serious Discussion Board!
Same topics, and I swear I've already learned more about THE REAL WORLD, stuff I need to know, than the last three years combined.

I am going to the counseler (oooh, like they actually help? their purpose is to placate you, not help you) and saying "Either move me to a faster class or let me teach myself". I guess the school doesn't understand a basic rule: MORE HOMEWORK DOES NOT EQUAL MORE LEARNING!!!!!!!!!!!! Why don't schools accomadate to the upper level as well? I mean, the bottom 5% certainly gets extra help. Why doesn't the top 5%? I have ADHD so if i am even mildly bored my attention is absolutely elsewhere. If i get stuck in this crap class i will keep track of how slow it goes or if i get to learn at a faster rate then i will record it here as well:

The main thing is, I'm trying not to stop caring. A lot of people can relate to this since a fair amount of people are smart and hate the school system.
