It's a monitor/display problem, try calibrating it.

omfg, Thats not how its supposed to look, I know this for 100% sure. I've seen StarCraft editors on atleast 5 different computers.

IT IS YOUR COMPUTER RESOLUTION LISTEN TO US WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!!

When a game/program goes full screen IT CHANGES YOUR COMPUTERS RESOLUTION TO MATCH THE PROGRAM. Therefore, STOP comparing your editor to the actual game, as for the game resolution that thing is frickin LIGHT. You definitely need to tune down the gamma okay. On your pictures you keep sending us, the tiles are perfectly colord and they aren't black like you think they are. Therefore ITS YOUR COMPUTER!!!! (or your eyes)

Resolution is the size and number of pixels and stuff...

It's his moniter. He needs a new one or he needs to fix his current one so it's not so dark.

Resolution does affect sharpness though. My LCD displays fullscreen SC at a stretched proportion, so it's not as sharp as if I run it in window mode.

Its not his monitor...but he needs to understand that his pictures look perfect to us and they don't look dark at all. Also, sharpness has no effect on brightness. I think his gamma just needs to be brought down a bunch on starcraft.

I found out the problem. My monitor is missing 3 Pins and it turns everything from a certain grey scale to solid black making anything remotely dark solid dark. I used a Calibrating device and it confirmed my suspicions, on a black strip I couldn't get it to turn light using using QuickGamma.

So, it is not displaying appropriately, if your screen looks as dark as mine did try using QuickGamma and checking to see if your missing Pins on the cord from your monitor that connects to back of your computer into the video card.

*PrintScreen captures a screenshot exactly as your monitor sees it.

To anyone who think it is displaying properly: It isn't. If I go to blizzard.com You cannot see the Menu at the Top. because its on a dark grey skill. Its almost completely black.

When I get my laptop fixed I will add a lot of Screenshots for comparison. between StarCraft editor, and StarCraft on the Default Gamma on both computers.

It's you monitor cable then. Your screenshot appears normal to me. I can see the top menubar and everything. Apparently PRINT SCREEN creates a image that looks different to you than us.

LOL! How ironic is that, this whole time You've all been seeing the Actual picture and I have been seeing the F'd up version because of my monitor. No wonder!

I thought PrintScreen did the monitor because I never took it into account that the Screenshot would be messed up too on my monitor. w00t.gif

I have said that like twice now...it looks fine to us. Now, i didn't understand that you couldn't see other things that had nothing to do with staredit...so...yes its your monitor. See if its plugged in alll the way and if that doesn't work...MAKE SURE the brightness and contrast levels can be changed. If not then get a new monitor?

Its from like 1998, a Gateway EV700 17 inch. The reason its not working right is 3 missing pins on the plug. Gotta save up $150 for a 17" flat for this.

You could just find replacement screws or press it in tightly and have the monitor pressed against the wall...lol Or you could get a new monitor!! wink.gif
