I meant the usage of the words that get filtered. Not the appearance of the actual words as a result of being filtered.

They're just regular words that have through some piece of misfortune gotten a stigma with them.
Most people just use them because they cannot or don't want to find a more appropriate synonym.

Last time I checked, you'd get suspended for saying that anyway. And anyway, Starcraft is rated T for Teen. Now I was watching some "TV 14" show, and the TV had subtitles (not CC, but built in subtitles, on the show), and some dude cursed. It had just two asterisks in the middle. Not 3, not 4, not fark.
