Just for clarification, this would fill 1 spot on the Spotlight. Other spots can be used for contest winners, etc. That way we can have one that is the public's pick.

That sounds like when Coko used to do the Map of the Week in Map Showcase or something. Except it was removed because it was inactive.

When I said surplus overuse of redundancy I meant the phrase "Monthly MotM", not the idea itself.

When you find a map good enough, update it. I'd rather see it updated at random intervals than at the rate it was going. There was never supposed to be a set time period on it.

One thing I just thought of... If this feature already exists, then I haven't noticed it, but is there a way maps that were in the spotlight could have some sort of indicator on their DL page that it was in the spotlight at some point. If I were to receive the spotlight, I would consider that to be something of an award. As with any award (oscar, emmy, grammy, etc) you get to keep it and you have bragging rights because you earned it. I was thinking something like "Former spotlight holder" on the submission's page would be nice. Or some little symbol or something next to it's name. It would be a good mark of quality that newer members (who weren't around when something was in the spotlight) could see. If something has earned a place in the top left of the home page, then it deserves to have some kind of record of that, IMO.

Ok, I think it's about a time for map spotlight change. I still recommend [GTA classic] as it scored 9/10 in the review, 4th best reviewed map.

I'm not very fond of DEAD, but I think he put alot of work in that map and it turned out great so, I agree with him when he says it should be on the map spotlight.
