Up top (on top of the spotight, I mean), make it so it says the last time the map spotlight was updated.
Please? It'd just give people more information and I know it's easy to code.

I have a suggestion as well: Update it.

I'll get to it during the weekend when I update the DLDB. Unless another DLDB Keeper does so sooner.

I would update the maps in the map spotlight, but seriously, I can't find a good map anymore I will go through the database (newer maps) and see if any is worth the map spotlight.

Yeah, the Spotlight should not be updated with
  • sup-par maps
  • old submissions

well at least examen all the maps that was brought in that week. and find one that is the best map during that week.

then do it all over again every week. which ever is the best map that was sent this week.

I Don't See Where A Sound Converter Fits Into The Map Spotlight.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Doodan on 2005-11-18 at 01:08:02
I don't think it should be upgraded TOO frequently (like every week), just more frequently than it has been lately. I think only the really good maps deserve it. Like Merrell said, there may just be a lack of great new maps out there. It would have to be about as good as The Honourless, cuz I thought that was an excellent map. Having your map in the spotlight should be something you could be truly proud of.

But yeah, those maps on there now have been there for months.

Another suggestion: Change it to file spotlight so people quit complaining about the Midi to WAV download.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Centreri on 2005-11-20 at 09:23:33
And Modification spotlight biggrin.gif
Or at least, as Rexy said, File Spotlight and put a mod up there.
It does get annoying when the map spotlight hasn't been updated for such a long time.

Yeah... Zerg Doom deserves to be in the Spotlight, and it's been published recently. biggrin.gif

[center]There's three spots, right? Change it to plain 'Spotlight' and have 3 categorys. Spotlight: Map, File, Mod?
I dunno, just throwing ideas out there.

I'll put up the winning entry of Syphon's contest... when, or rather, IF, we find out who won. -_-

And how would this work out? Who would host it, who would judge it...
It took me literally thirty seconds to read your post BoyScout.... (I've passed middle school too, so I can read -_-)
I don't mind abbreviations or misspells here and there, but atleast use the right words..

donno get like legacy or something someone who is a mod for like maps in product and etc to do it if they want.. ppl just sumbit map on the previous thread and then we put it up after the month. or something like that. then we have a poll and ppl just vote. it might turn out as popularty contest and more ppl making multi accounts. that might be bad but it just sounded interesting
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2005-11-21 at 14:11:02
I think putting up maps that are fun to play, new or not up there would be a good idea.

Hmm, MotM idea: Currently Active DLDB keepers each submit a list of 7 files submitted in the past month they find are the best (must be 7, I don't care if there are no good ones), and I can pin a monthly poll. Good idea?
