well i see you guys are happily talking on if global warming occurs but heres a short explination on why it happens.

there is no ignoring the massive deforestation going on in the past few hundred years. less plants means less oxygen and CO2 being recycled. more pollution from fossil fuels means more greenhouse gasses. and since we have our wonderful atmosphere above our heads the greenhouse gas is keeping the heat inside.
since we do not have accurate temperatures from a few hundred years ago we will never know how drastically the earths temperature has changed. But what we do know is that in recent years storms have been getting stronger and numerous and that the climate is changing.

My proposal is to get all of the robots in the world to go on an island and use thier exhaust vents to push the earths rotation a few hundred miles away from the sun.

I wouldn't worry about the earth. Humans are so physically weak that we'll make the planet unihabitable for ourselves long before we kill off everything else. The planet has survived extinction events where 95% of ALL SPECIES were wiped out. To the earth, we're probably more like a pesky cold than a life threatening illness. If it does get worse, then we'll just finish ourselves off and the planet will recover eventually.

Sucks for us, though. And for Santa.

I do, but i don't. The increasing tempurature in the ocean, the mealting glaciers isn't super affective. I mean it is happening, but I don't think it is a big thing. God would, (if you belive) make this and than destroy it with somthing like this.

Ok if you think about it. There are a lot of glaciers in many areas of fisheries, right? These glaciers are made of mostly fresh water. When all of these melt, which they are, it will create a large amount of fresh water in areas where salt water animals live. Salt water is denser than fresh water, so fresh water goes on top of salt water. This means that all the life that would be happily living near the surface of the ocean will be pushed down towards the bottom. Most of the CO2 -> O2 conversions happen in the ocean.
That goes away, we = dead.

I believe that global warming came around solely because of the Industrial Revolution.

procuress the greenhouse effect might not be as strong as we think it is. the reason why i put the natural cycle(or whatever) is because the greenhouse gasses could be effecting the earth very little. it could be a cycle of warming and cooling.

Isnt global warming bound to happen, anyway, would the flip of magnetic fields have anything to do with it?

maybe.... or the pollution will just settle into the land.

im not really sure about the magnetic fields... the only reason i would see is that it would multiply the sunflares or something like that...

Did you know that you can literally tell when a pot was made from it's magnetic pull?
The earth's poles change magnetism every few centuries. When you make a pot and heat it up and is cooked, the electrons in the pot line up with the earth's natural pull.
From this, we can tell what is made when.

Sure the earth has a tendancy to live on, there is indeed a need to worry. If we were to start over we would need to go through a very hard and strenuous process to become what mankind is today. Ugh. Long cycle. Global warming is coming! Watch out!

Personlly, I dont care. Whats the point in caring if it doesnt happen to you in your life time? Anwer me that!

Would the hole not make earth colder?

well i heard that the ozone keeps out some radiation... so if there is a hole it would let more radiation into our atmosphere therefore making it hotter.

Radiation != Heat

Supposedly, the thickening atmosphere is causing global warming, catalized by smog created by automobiles, power plants and volcanoes. If there's a hole, heat can escape. While Radiation [temporarily] = Heat, once night comes, temperatures will drop, just like on other non-atmospheric planets such as mars and mercury.

Why wouldn't I believe in global warming?

No, it's asking if you believe it is happening.

I think this just another normal cycle for the Earth, so I voted no, I don't believe in global warming.

I think it's all a big joke, but we really need to conserve energy on another note.

I also think the greenhouse effect is a big joke, too, but please don't get me started.

Some people say that in about 200-300 years from now, coastal cities like New York and others would be underwater . And since the damage we're doing to mother nature is exponential, it could be much sooner

I don't believe in global warming, but I believe some parts of the globe are.

If you live nowhere near a mountain and close to a lake or sea grab a kite, surfboard, toothbrusha nd help rebuild.

That's my crazy way of saying we can adapt. The blue areas indicate cities and majorly populated areas. In 3 years the technology will definantly exist to support cities over water, as it already does. Most people will have no problem living over water, those who do can live in a space station or suck it up until we terraform Mars. The red scribble indicates my anger towards Australia for hoarding all the marsupials. (All the good ones anyway, damn Possums.)

How could that be a serious question, it is a fact that the global warming exists

even though scientific data also supports the earth was actually warmer...300 years ago...

also, with global warming becoming more of a problem since the 1700s, the level of sea pirates have also decreased. obviously, we need more pirates to fix global warming...

Some people think they have proven global warming exists, and some think they have disproven that theory. This is how this is a serious question.
