This map seems to be progressing really well.

I think the weather system will not directly effect the speed at which at plant grows. Instead, the weather system will effect your water count and tree life as such.
Drought: You will loose water (minerals) quickly. Theres also the possibility of a observer flying around with a exploding tail which will cause your trees to go on fire.
Rain Storm: Water limit will raise you and theres also the possibilty of an observer with a blue trail that can heal your trees.
This probably will change some but its just my current ideas. I'm still trying to think of a logical way to slow your tree growth down once you become excessive with the amount of water you have.

Well, I have a small update:
There will be a place at the bottom left that shows your tree planters status. There are 5: professional, vehicle, armed, normal and High. Every single statues is unlocked by a quest except normal and each status is used for a different thing.
Wow you 've made some progress lol. Occupations sound nice, but for weed dealer you could have once you do enough of it the cops come after you or something. Nice weather ideas, if you wanted to you could have a lightning strike which would randomly bring one of your trees down a level (from losing limbs and all). To slow the ammount of tree growth you could slowly add the ammount of water it takes with every tree that reaches its final stage by adding to the the number that it needs to reach.
In the water system I mentioned the weather didnt directly affect the tree growth it affected water count, but yours is far better.
Well many of you were probably complaining about how to get into the town and all. I think I have a bugless Ferry system now so that should not be a problem.
I think I could have this map ready(ish) in maybe 1-2 weeks. I of course would vastly improve upon it after I realesed it.
ADDITION:
At this point many of the less serious things are done. I've actualy not even started on the tree planting system yet. I just added the wood person check which can lead into a wood person revolt. Since I have this week off I can get a lot done but I don't think I can get a beta version out for atleast a week.
I'll be up for testing in the beta stages, any improvment over the last is going to be a good one.
Ok guys, I have started to do the planting system.
I may put up a very early release which would not show much except the terrain and planting system and the couple features which you would have the ability to meet their conditions with.
I've also uploaded two screen shots.
The terrain is much improved from pt2, good job on it, if you could submit the early demo that'd be nice, I'd like to see the tree planting system in action
I plan to release a demo of the game within 2 days. It will show not to much because you won't be able to meet most of the trigger conditions but you will get the general idea of everything.
I have put up the planting system with all of the changes on the front page. Please comment now if you have any suggestion for it.
For spells ( since you seem to have only one) you could have a spell witch temporarily allows you to have a single tree attack ( like place a special building near it that needs a certain seed or else it gets removed and does nothing) this is more of a buyable item than a spell though.
you could have "call of the wild" ( lol ) which draws little creatures to aid you against evil, you'd get like chipmunks or something that do a little bit of damage.
You could have forestry ( or like green thumb) which would automatically raise the level of a nearby tree.
Ok guys, The planting system is ready. Although it needs some slight improvement here and there, its ready. The main bug is fixed so you won't have to deal with the huge ass tree being blocked by minerals or the surrounding. I'll have a demo up hopefully by 7:30 (West Coast time) today and if not It'll be up tomorrow.
Just to let you guys know all of my testing has been 1 player really so theres the small possibility that it won't be completely functional for whatever reason with more than 1 person. I don't think so though.
