I do need soem help testing out some new stuff...but you aren't on...what about before you leave?
mm...so anyway anyone that wants to help test come to op pdf@uswest when i'm not afk..i am on right now I update stuff on my map everyday but need testing if they all work the way it should... i am reusing some old ideas from my other map to make it better so don't think everything is lost....-_-

Lol, bah that sucks tdnfth1 mindless kiddies cant post in urs. O.o well shadow after reading most of post and features looks pretty cool, Is shadowlion even a class? just wondering sounds like a mix of a fighter and something just give me abit more info on what a Shadowlion Class is -_-; so less confused about it in my small moogle mind. Oh, i cant test for like a week once im back sure you'll have alot done i can help test then =) till then good luck and may kupo force eat u!

thought i explained the shadowlion thing,stealthy group of soldiers that uses stealth magic biggrin.gif.
hey, if you remember a snow plow in one of the maps,it's now in my map and looks better than ever tongue.gif.i can let you try it out. i'll post up some more screenshots when i can.

we can test when your're back. happy kupo nuts lol

Things needed to be done:
-fix a few minor glitches
-add more items and chests to use
-finish off dungeon
-create a town
-screenshots
-more levels

well...that was wierd...
anyway i fixed up the snow plow...its pretty fun to drive it in my opinion,its not as tedious anymore but still gotta becareful.

item chests are now added in,the dungeon is almost done and the town is being created...so that knocks off a few things but still got lots to work on. I have room for another item in the shuttle...just need to think up of an idea what to put it in...would you think revives would be reasonable?or maybe some powerups or another skill...i will be adding in an extended thing to cast more items/spells anyway though...i just need some help testing and taking screenshots...

Revives are always good in RPGs. You don't want to frustrate players with only one 'life,' now, would you? Especially the long RPGs...But if you really feel like giving the players a difficult time, how about something like a stun bomb? Temporarily stuns the enemy, giving you free hits. Unless you already have a spell that mimics the effect to some extent.

And...a snow...plow? That's one of the most random objects I've seen in an RPG. Sounds fun. Well, it'd better be.

i guess i can put in revives..but probably not until later...some people say that putting in revives would make the game too easy...i do plan on making it a bit hard so that people don't get careless...

personally i like my snow plow idea...seems original and pretty fun to me, but you'll need it to get through...i guess it depends on what certain things people like doing...i had to admit before i fixed it up it was kind of irritating and tedious, but now it seems better...the effect looks neat and its not so tedious...its still slow though since it is a reaver...
you can see it for yourself and you can tell me what you think if you want...

This map sounds awesome, I myself use to hang out with clan PDF way back when joebomber or whoever was still in the clan, i am FliP-@uswest. So goodluck.

yea, you do have bad timings...but anyway i'm still planning on working on shadowlion, there isn't much change since the last time you played it except for some cleaning up some of my triggers and fixing some glitches.

i'll still work on it, it's not gonna go down til i finish it so keep this thread alive...other than that i'm just plain busy with other things and wanting to work on other projects.

But I suppose I should say something that has to do with something about the map now huh...? How about a question?

What is the point of the snowplow? Using a reaver is just slow and your party could walk faster than that, so what even have one in there? Unless of course you needed it to knock down some...snow...or something to be able to go on to the next area. But people can walk on top of snow, why would you need to knock it down?

you'll need the snow plow to smash the ice in the way to het through,there objects in the way that cen't be destroyed by anything else than the plow. i'm still working on the map.

i'm just adding more fundamental ideas to make the map more interesting

Ahh...ice. That makes sense. Do you have to do a long quest to get the snowplow or do you just start off with it? (You should make it so you have to do a quest).

it's a controllable object in the dungeon sort of a quest to get through one of the levels...

i think i will focus more on shadowlion after talking about it now a bit, its making me more encouraged to finish it smile.gif . i still like my ideas planned for it. making an rpg original and other than ordinary hack-n-slash rpg.

heres a refresher of what i have so far;
-3 main characters(each will have there own storyline)
-each have their first spells/abilities
-have a few items and chests out
-an ice dungeon is created with 3 levels
-dungeons has some logic and wierd puzzles
-some level ups are in
-some terraining has been done for a town

im near putting in a mini-boss at the end of the dungeon
i have many more things planned for it, especially on the bosses and abilities. i might make some occasional battle systems on the bosses which might be pretty cool, but still in the planning stages...

Are there going to be random encounters in this map like in Faith(Fate) and Destiny style or maybe FF3? Or will monsters be free to roam and free to kill?

i'm having plans to split them up...for a few parts i will just make them just spawn randomly to kill...and other part to go to a battle system(probably going to be for bosses or certain enemies)...the battle systems are very complex and long to do, but i can try to experiment with them to work...enemies you encounter can't be attacked or attack you and going near them will move you a battle area...

what i am planning for boss areas is require something more than hack-n-slash...like a certain task to weaken it,make it vulnerable for a short time to get hit, or require the use certain skill, that kind of stuff...but these are just ideas that aren't in action yet...

i'm thinking i might need to split my maps into chapters on separate maps because it is pretty much filling up quite fast and took a huge portion of the map for the beginning and its only 256x192...but it will have a lot of stuff in them.

right now i'm kind of multitasking all around...busy with college work,part-time job,errands,bills, working on 3 maps at the same time is too time-consuming,but i work on the maps when i can so as said before keep the thread alive until i complete it...

oh and one more thing, feel free to drop by and ask if testing is available in op pdf@uswest smile.gif .

So itll kinda be like FF3 where enemies run around on the world map and if you run into one you get sucked into a battle. That is a good system to use. (Like if you are low on health and are trying to escape battleness back to an inn)

Keep up the good work on the map!
