I Suppose, it would be bad enough to give them to the British (I First heard thats who they we're going to) But the Arabians....cmon man, There people are Trying to KILL US is it Really a good idea to Give them a Window of oppurtunity to Come into the US??

The British already owned the rights to the ports, and how would they be a threat in the first place? And the United Arab Emirates as a whole is not particularly anti-U.S, but this is certainly making the job easier for someone trying to smuggle illicit materials in.

This makes no sense when lined up against all of Bush's other policies, and especially since he's never even considered a veto up until this point.

How can you pay someone back, when you have no money?

If you knew anything about economics, you would know that if someone is in DEBT, that means that HAVE NOTHING of VALUE to give in RETURN.

So please explain to us all, how you can pay back someone with nothing.

Edit: Also. If we have paid back to everyone (As you so claim we have) Why are we still Trillions of dollars in DEBT to OTHER COUNTRIES???

A) American government has NO money at all.
B) We still owe other countries from WW1, WW2, civil war, or basically any debt we need to pay since after Jefferson.

We are paying dues, but the debt is building faster then we can pay....

Use Logic.

Example: Jim-bob has $100 dollars. He loans it to Jeffrey-Jim. Jeffrey-Jim spends it. Jim-bob is in debt $100 dollars because he loaned it to Jeffrey-Jim, and Jeffrey-Jim is in debt $100 dollars because he spent it. Jeffrey-Jim cannot pay back Jim-bob because Jeffrey-Jim doesn't have the money (I.E. DEBT)

Is that spelt out good enough for you? Or are you still certain that you can pay back someone with NOTHING????

Your argument is that we are paying dues, but the debt is building faster than we can pay. Again, you fail to see how we are paying dues with absolutely NOTHING. Our nation is TRILLIONS of dollars in debt; Therefor, NO MONEY.

So I ask you: How can we pay off our debts to someone when we have nothing to pay it off with? A debt means there is nothing there; Hence, the Federal Debt being 8 Trillion+ dollars.

Now again. Please explain to everyone that reads this thread, how you can pay someone off, with nothing. Nothing of any value or substance.

I think he's saying that we're continuing to build a larger deficit (spending money that doesn't exist), which is something only governments can do.

We DO have money, you are right. We just aren't spending enough of it on debts. We've been spending it on wars and corporte bailouts/grants (Seems like Haliburton got a 1 and a half trillion grant some years ago, or something like that. I could be wrong about the number)

Lies: "Our Economy is thriving"

If our Economy was thriving, why are we in debt??

Inflation: Something that costed $1.00 a couple of mounths ago, now costs $1.50?

Price rises = Inflation. And you don't see the price of anything falling. Now do you?

And to refute your argument about the Transportation and such:

While we could set up a more reliable payment plan, we are more like that annoying friend that borrowed $50 from you so he could go buy a game he wanted, but everytime he gets another $50, he spends it on another game instead of paying you back.
