The new 256x256 titlist screen shots look good, and this rpg is now looking exellent over all, but why would you trap miruk in glass? Wouldn't it be say stone? or a hard jewl of some kind that is not easily broken? well anyways its just a suggesetion

Thanks. I'm much happier with it now.
The reason I transform him to glass is because I have a really nice "glass shattering" sound. Thinking about it, you do have a good point. I'll do some research and think of something new.
Why don't you try adding multiple choice questions? Like, you can't advance the quest until you answer so many questions correctly. I think that would be really cool! Trivia Pursuit kind of thing!
Holy f***! Thats the best idea I've ever heard! Thank you so much! I'll search for some IQ tests on the internet, and throw in a few logical questions in the map. You are very useful Electroid ;p
Yay! Thanks so much for the map preview! Nice music and intro. I don't understand how the health system works.
Theres a hell of alot of time I contributed towards making that intro, so I'm glad you liked it. About the health system, I haven't finished it yet. I feel I should tell you, but theres another part of me which wants me to keep it a secret, as this is the best health system ever invented! I've basicaly recreated a permanent health and magic bar, which goes up or down depending on your current status. You will see!
hey! Terrain is cool but i can make a little bit better in shorter time XD, dont be mad, anyways it should be good when u place trees by random so you can enter the forest and maybe get some treasures somewhere
its good anyways
Hmm, do you use Staredit? aka blizzards campaign editor?
If you do you should get SCMDraft or SCXEditor.
Personally i use SCMDraft 2, they can be found in the downloads section.
Anyways nice screenshots, goodluck with the map.
Firstly, thanks for the positive feedback.
As for the terrain, I use Staredit. I then import it into Starforge to finish it off. I've tried using SCM Draft, but I don't like the trigger operation, and I cant add a briefing in it. Anyway, to summary it up, I personally prefer the basic terrain settings in Staredit, because I think it looks more natural and realistic. Plus, I think its the skills and experience of the map editor that makes good terrain, not the map editing version the map editor us using. However, I could be wrong. I haven't yet tried using SCX, so maybe I'll check it out after completion of this map.
Looking good XMercury, im kinda like you i rather ISOM terrain over Custom Blended Extended Terrain but thats just me. I Feel that ISOM has a better format and feel to it and makes map look good and clean while extended just adds more work on your plate some blends may look natural and somewhat realistic still looks odd in other aspects. Good luck with your map and hope you stick to ISOM!
ISOM ALL TEH WAY!!~~
\\Moogle
Thanks Moogle. Your the man!
Current Progress:
Added Spell select/casting system, with the use of 3 units (7 Spells total)
Added Health system (Health associated with current mineral supply)
Added optional Tutorial system (Explains Magic/Health system and Quest hints)
I think this map should have random ambient noizes.
Like random crickets, birds, footstep sounds, wolves in background, stuff like that... I think that would make the RPG really professional.

Thats a really good idea. Do you mean in replacement for the music? The music I have at the moment is really good, but adding sounds of nature is definately worth thinking about.
Thanks.
Those new screenshots look tasty! Are the status bars always displayed during the game? And do they go up or down depending on your status? Hey, about the sounds, I have some forest sounds I could send you. Are you going to have that Trivia Pursuit game in it as well?
Thanks man. In answer to your question, YES!!! I am more than happy to state that the 3 status bars (HP, MP and SP) are displayed the entire way through the game, and represent your Hit Points, Magic Points, and Magic Spells.

I appreciate the offer, but I've decided to use music instead.

Still thinking about it, but the chances are low, because I'm running out of String space.
How the f**k do you show 3 different status systems at 1 time? They all work independantly I assume?
Also, there are just 2 beacons for the spell system? How does that work?

Yes, all 3 status bar systems work independantly, but are thrown together in 1 place in the game. So, if your Health Points descend, the HP status bar will descend accordingly, without changing the other status bars.

The basic concept is, that you have a maximum of 8 spells. Each spell is added to your spell book at various points in the game. You can look through and select your spells by using the lower beacon. The top beacon simply casts the current spell you have selected from your spell book.
The triggering is too complicated to explain without me boring you sh*tless!
Also, I've added the Help system within the Magic Spell system. All you have to do is move your "Chooser" away from Magic Spell area, and depending on which point of the game you are at, the Help system gives you clues as to what you have to do to complete the current quest/mission.
Ooh, i like that idea, goodluck again!
Thanks! I'm so pleased with it! All I have left to do now is the Mission Triggers and the Unit Placement. This map is the result of over 100 hours map creating, as opposed to my other maps which were about 15-20 hours, so you can bet your money its a beauty!
This map will surely kik ass! But... a 256/256 map will be too big for last 20-30 mins... I'm sure you'll make a great map!
LOL thanks. I appreciate your comment, but thats old news! Originally, the map was 128x128 and it was going to be around 20-30 minutes. Considering this map is twice the size and 10 times the complexity, you can expect this game to last alot longer than that! 2 hours maximum though.
LOL is that you in the picture XMercury? Haha! Nice! You should make a real cartoon about yourself! You look quite old! So, um, how old are you?
Yes I traced over my picture in Flash MX, then coloured myself in. Hey, I'm not that old! Nearly 21. Anyway, keep to the topic please! LOL.
My intentions are to create a 60 minute game. You think I should aim for longer than that?
