The thing I didn't like about the world display map was your characters were BIGGER then some of the towns you could enter(kinda wierd if you ask me..).

Actually I didn't fail to consider it. FFVII was released in 1997, FFVIII was released in 1999, FFIX was released in 2000, and FFX was released in 2001. A lot changed between 1997 and 1999 (or 2000 and 2001 for that matter).

Just to put it out there, X-2 was released in 2003 and XI was released in 2002 (Japan) and 2003/04 (PS2 and PC in USA).
