It's just not the "GREATEST FPS EVRR" or near that, in my opinion.

ROFL! That's serious?! That was more like a steaming pile of crap! Halo 2 simply picks up after the novel series (if you even read...) The Covenant have found Earth through the means of exploration and battles, they knew where Earth was from how much the humans were defending their colonies. The Covenant open a hole and transport out of Earth for a reason, because (if you have great listening skills...) you figure out that the Prophet has made a mistake hence the opening scene (Regret... Regret... Regret...) and decides to hold off on the attack. The MC was part of a special group of humans (cybernetically enhanced, etc. etc.) that had faster reflexes, sharper minds, greater physical strength, etc. etc. He was specifically chosen as the leader of the SPARTANs and was well rounded in all means of combat, he didn't specialize in any one thing. Then you make a transition to the punishment of the elite soon to be called Arbiter, this simply shows his selflessness to the Covenant cause as he takes up the Arbiter title. The Covenant find that the flood are also on this ring world because they try to open up the control center. Conflicts arise and you get the destruction of the first prophet (Regret) because he failed to follow orders and that the Elites are deemed "unfit" for the defense and protection of the Prophet caste. Which then leads to the Brutes assumption of the Elite Guard status, throwing the Elites into dismay for they were the loyal guardians of the prophets for years (this was also mentioned in one of the scenes.) After several things happen, the MC and Arbiter are brought together... Anyone who has played the game should know what happens next. I'm tired of explaining this storyline to someone who obviously fails to see the intricacy of it.


I'm going to assume that the Covenant's religious zeal and the mention of the great journey led you to say that.

StarCraft is a completely different gaming genre! You say this as though RTS implies FPS... All scenes are fresh, Counterstrike is an over-rated game but still has thousands of fans. Star Wars is just how you mentioned Halo, it is composed of books, movies, games, etc. etc. Halo is an entire universe of things... and Halo was ahead of its time, look at the sophisticated AI... ROFL... GoldenFist... just stop it already.


This topic is specifically about the "NEW HALO 3 TRAILER" not Halo 3 in general and again you fail to see that this is the best FPS on a CONSOLE SYSTEM not a god damn PC! Tell me any game that you love and I can tell you that this has been there and people have done that... No suspense?! YOU JUST CONTRADICTED YOURSELF! Previously you mentioned "cliff hanger"... Don't cliff hangers build up suspense?! Inconsistency is everywhere in your posts here.


Okay, you've had fun playing other games. You all are entitled to your own opinions like I previously mentioned, however read up on Halo and how it changed console shooters with its interwoven storyline, sophisticated AI, etc. etc. Please tell me a better FPS "CONSOLE" game that can match or beat Halo.

Cortana Theory

At the end of Halo 2, Cortana is in the Covenant mainframe (or wateva they call there computers) and there "holy city" has been taken over (mainly) by flood (there are chances of small resistances that might try to retake, but no infomation at this current time), Gravemind said "I have questions and you will answer", He seems to be a smart "thing" and has a great plan that ties in with the story, I belive that he controlls the flood on that halo (and thru cortana possibly alot of other area's now), After Cortana "discusses with gravemind" she might relise what he is doing and is either: A: trying to help him (and thru some way will save mankind), or B: Been corrupted and that was a small part of her calling for help, C: She has been taken completly over by gravemind, he is seeing that he could be a great asset if he is under controll by the flood and is luring him into a trap!

Mastercheif and earth theory

Now i belive that alot has been left out, Masterchief was on the ship with the prophets towards "the arc" (That either earth or has a clue to the real location of the arc), He has probly been split up somewhere along the way to earth, and at the end of halo 2 Master cheif got a communication from that old dude. It is possible that we will see earth being destroyed by that large force! I belive that mastercheif is trying to wage a 1 man war (most humans are probly hiding around the galaxy at this moment in time)!!

Arbiter Theory

The Arbiter was left with Maranda keys (Captain Keys Daughter) and johnsen, with 343 Guilty spark and some surviving elites (when i finish halo 2 it always has spare elites trying to hack "mr mohawk" down) will meet up and trying to gather all marines/elites together will be Master Cheifs backup!

Halo 3 is the crap, it owns any other FPS game ever created and known to man. And halo 2 is fun, who cares about the story line? Seriously, who pays attention to the story line? We play to kill and only to kill. And you can't forget to brag to people when you are better then them at it.

I have to say that this game is going to own and most likely sell higher then any other game that is made for the Xbox 360. Graphics own, weapons own, and finally... the game owns.

Sure the single player mode is kind of crappy, yet it is still fun as hell to play. Multi-player will surely be fun as hell to play with other people. And you know for sure that this game is NOT overrated. Just because people like the game, doesn't mean it's overrated.

Which is why I got a 360

I can't believe you made a comment about me not being able to read and then post some crap like this. I was replying to someone else who was talking about how those certain games were overrated and I was showing him how they're not. Nice reading skills.
As for your "universe" this so called "universe" is promotional funding. Bungie only liscened these novels to make the game more popular, and you can check to find out that all the books were made after the first game. George Lucas was making Star Wars since he was a little kid. That's not a universe that's marketing, they're just as relavant as the Action Figures for Halo.


This is the first one you found. And it still doesn't work out Mr.Cool. A cliff hanger would be suspensful if I didn't feel like I had to wipe to crap from my eye retinals aftering finishing the game. And still even if I got a tiny bit of suspense. That's 5 seconds of goodness in a 10 hour long game, boy that was worth it. And it's not like there's a huge compeition for best FPS on a Console. I enjoyed Area 51 more so than Halo 1 or 2. Hell I had more fun playing Chicago Enforcer, at least that game was funny.


I don't see where you get all this "ON A CONSOLE NOT A PC ARRRRRRRRRRRRRR" crap from. I never mentioned the PC. I hate playing games on PC to be truthful. And even if I didn't already name a better FPS (Which you're just going to attempt to pick apart how it's not like Halo) that doesn't mean it's a great game. It means it's one of the better FPS. A genre that normally sucks anyway. And you haven't even stated what exactly is so great about Halo without making it broad as hell:
"It's a good story"
No it's not. You can put it in a paragraph. You can go play Rachet and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal in first person mode and the story is a lot better, and the game is a lot more fun. And in case your wondering, that's for the console as well.

You're claiming that I think the gameplay is boring and repeative because I don't have any friends? Or is it because you made a assumtion of my skill at the game which is false and you just guessed at. I can understand the story, it just sucks. Storys don't make the game though, I wasn't expecting one from an FPS anyway. They could've replaced it with MC who's attached to a speical blue ball, and then the covenant take the blue ball and stuff goes down. I dont think it's overrated simply because of the multiplayer. If Halo 2 was just a xbox live game and no anything else i still would of bought it.

I do belive Halo 1\2 is a bit overrated not saying it's a bad game it's one freaking good game but it's do to this:

The Pc has many very high quality shooters.
The Xbox has....Halo and Halo 2 for it's very high quality shooters.

Therefor the console gamers that arn't into Pc games....well the only good FPS they've played has been Halo and Halo 2. So since thats the only very high quality shooter they have...most of them will call it the best game ever and be in love with it. While the Pc has several very good FPS's and have always had some damn good FPS's. This keeps the community split and balanced in terms of being overrated.

I'm not saying Halo or Halo 2 are bad games, there up there with the best Pc Games. I'm just telling why it gets a little to much attention.

If they don't like it they don't like it. They don't have to like it. I think FPS sucks in general.

Real-Time is not the same as in-game. The graphics are pre-rendered in a movie style, if you're wondering how the movie will look, it looks like that.

*sigh* i thought the trailer was great and that the graphics are going to be amazing, and if you guys had read the stories on gamespot (or if you haven't)::::::
the story does, in fact, take place on earth, and that the covenant have, in fact, defeated earth's defensive forces, the trailer IS in Africa, and that IS a forerunner structure...... and also Bungie says that the trailer is real time, the MC in the trailer was controllable (meaning the graphics in the trailer will be the graphics in the game), that the trailer takes place about 1/3 of the way through the game, and also... regrettably,
that this will be the last chapter in the Halo Trilogy

Try 76% buddy. Halo is way overrated. In fact, doom 3 made 3 times as much money and you don't see people go crazy about it like halo. It would appear most americans are retarded. Hmm, i guess the world was right when they said it was the fattest and dumbest country.

Quake 4 was made a year ago buddy and ALL halo games are overrated. This is just another one coming. Everyone loves it already even though IT HASN"T EVEN COME OUT YET. Don't compare a game that came out about a year ago to something that comes after 2 years. If you want to do that, then compare it to Doom 4.

That doesn't change that it's overrated. I can say that those graphics looked nice, but that doesn't make it worthy of best game ever. If that were the case Nanobreaker would've done better than it did.

Now compare the amount of the pc games of equal or same quality and hell why not include mods while were at it.

I mean how well did Halo 1 sell on the pc compared to other games? Then how well did Halo 1 sell on the xbox compared to other games?
