I'll watch it on my good computer later to see if my opinion changed, but that trailer was pretty crappy. I downloaded the small one, though.

agreed. they say its like "OMFG THE BEST SHOOTER I'VE EVER SEEN!" its a remake of a "Sci Fi" category shooter. nothing special, the Story isnt very good. the Graphics arent like "OMFG THATS AMAZING!", and the Gameplay well. in my experience of playing the game. its not like "Wow...This game is totally amazing!!" its an ORDINARY GAME. Get over it.

I actually agree with them, i personally dont like sci-fi shooters, mostly because of the uber guns that kill everything in 1 or 2 shots. Games like FEAR and WW shooters are more my style. Ill watch this soon.

What's so good about it then, because I don't see how this is one of the greatest FPSs ever.

The gameplay in both 1&2 was pretty crappy, the singleplayer for both of them was crappu and repetative, the storyline for both was crap. The graphics were okay, not really great. The only thing pretty good was the multiplayer, which isn't really enough for the game to be considered one of the best FPSs all time.

It's seriously not as good as it's all hyped up to be, that's all.

Gameplay was amazing, single player was decent (i could care less about single player for the most part all i use single player for is to get good at the game before goin online), storyline was way better than crap, graphics were above average, multiplayer AMAZING.

Overrated...

I really like Halo and I think it is fun to play but I agree, I don't know why it got so overrated. There are many games that are equally as fun as Halo but are not as popular or famous.

Yeah, the multiplayer is great, but there's no bots. Lame... The single player is boring. The game isn't bad, but it's way too overrated.

When you can only use these words: Amazing, Great, Good, Fantastic, Suberb. To define how it's a good game, that means you don't really know why you like it so much and is potentionally a game that can be overrated.
Halo sucks. Let me show you the two "revolutionary" concepts of Halo:

Someone alert the media. Halo is coming. I'm sure it was ok in 2001, but people still call it one of the best games ever. WTF? The game sucks. Halo 2 wasn't any better. The story isn't amazing it just seems complex and has a few novels so people are like: OMFG NO WAY ITZ AWUSOEM. Here's the Halo Story:
A typical "badass" hero of awesome coolness who's face is never shown because he's cool and mysterious like that. Takes on an entire army by himself, it turns out that this army of aliens accidently releases an anicent enemy called The Flood. The flood eats everything, the only way to kill them unviersally is to kill everything else. But this simply will not do! So Badass typical mysterious hero saves the day.

Wow. That's deep. I could've said that in a sentance but I decided to be sarcastic a lot more. Rachet and Clank has a better storyline, at least it has plot twists, the only plot twist that Halo ever had was how they decided not to end Halo 2's story.

I thought the storyline was the human people and the snake people tried to kill the mutated things because they had some really good weapon thing that could kill everybody.

Whatever. The Halo 2 campaign was so damn confusing.

The trailer was pretty cool IMO. Too bad they don't tell us exactly which month in 2007 they'll release halo3 in.

Your summation of the Halo storyline is very inaccurate. If you haven't forgotten from the first Halo, the Covenant are out to wipe out the human race. They considered humans as things that needed to be cleansed. From that alone, we know that the Covenant are out searching for all human locations (colonies, planets, etc. etc.) and anything invented by humans. From where we left off from Halo CE, a ring world was destroyed and the Covenant are pissed off about it. They also state in the beginning of the game (Halo 2) that the humans unleashed the "parasites", where in actuality, they did. From there on you get two different perspectives of what happens next. Don't you people know how to piece any thing together?!

Halo 2 achieved two perspectives of two similar warriors, setting the base for the series of events for the future title(s). Those who think the game is overrated fail to see what Halo truly did for any console game, it made sense. The controls and layout helped any single user to play by achieving controller ergonomics. Now don't tell me, all console FPS shooters are like this and that any one can get used to controls, but as I said earlier, Halo's controls made sense.

From that trailer, I'm assuming that Earth defenses have failed and the Covenant have found the "key". Watch the trailer again and you'll hear that Cortana mentions that "this is how the world ends." In my opinion, the trailer was simply amazing from the fact that it was in-game cinematics.

this trailer gives a good information about the story line.

as halo 2 describes at the end, there is some forerunner thing called the Ark
and if activated, it will activate all halos.

now if you connect them all together, it all makes sense. you guys aren't really thinking into this, you definately have nothing to say about the halo storyline.

much of halo's story line have connected to the Bible. which i will not explain how.

the halo's storyline needs an explanation of a long essay. which i wont write here because you guys will complain about something and insult me with your aggressive minds.

the trailer tells that the game will definately be on earth or human inhabited planet. and that there is a large forerunner installation on that human inhabited planet or earth. Well guys, i do a lot of wierd thinking so dont complain.

The Ark is in Africa, see the trees and the like? Remember how the invasion was only above Africa? B)

Actually, yes it is. Halo is one of the most overrated video games/entertainment ever conceived. Everyone thinks its the crap when it actually sucks or isn't very good. Obviously, you are one of those people.

Though you are entitled to your own opinions, I believe you people should start your own "I hate Halo" topic, this one just so happens to deal with people who like Halo. I can list many reasons why any one could hate Halo but I'll just say one instead:

"OMG WTF I SUX AT HALO! I HATE IT! I HATE THE STORYLINE! I THINK ITS OVER-RATED! WTFBAN!"

Besides the point, the Halo 3 trailer is very teaser-y... I wonder what happened to Cortana... she seems more enlightened than ever.

Yes I do. It sucks. It turns out the incredblie large parasite that looked like he was from the flood betrayed me? NO WAY!! I didn't see that one coming. I missed where the person sumerized Halo 2's story but I can do it in a more serious way:
Covenant are at Earth, no one knows how they found it. They escape through a portal, MC goes with. You get a new crappy Arbiter campign and his quest to regain his honor and crap. Meanwhile MC tries to kill big hancos in the Covnenant army (And since he's so cool he can do it single handedly). A bunch of crap happens with the flood. Arb and MC meet up and find out what's going on through some big green thing under the sea. They do there thing to stop what's going to happen, and at one point the Arbiter kills this big Girzzly bear thing for revenge.
The Green thing "uses" them found out by master chief. We get a horrible "cliff hanger" ending whcih was retarded and we all wonder why we bought this crappy game.

Add it 0 fun at all to that lenghty paragraph and you have Halo 2. That sure was worth it. And

Starcraft made 3 races completely balanced for playing. Had a much better story than Halo and was basically ahead of it's time. What other RTS were out in 1997? Civ 3 and Command and Conquer. The RTS scene is still fresh. Counter Strike IS overrated, but it's no where close to Halo. And Star Wars is an entire universe of things, there are books, movies, games, etc. all with different story lines and an intresting concept of Good and Evil. Halo is just a bunch of medicore, plain elements stringed together to make a "good" game.


Well this topic is about Halo 3. And we said "who cares about it, the game is overrated" and now you're trying to say why anyone should care. And I hate halo because there are a bunch of idiots running around acting like it's the best FPS ever made and how it's all new and chisled blah blah blah. IT'S ALL BEEN DONE BEFORE. Halo I can understand why some people may like it, it was one of the first new generation FPS, Halo 2. That game is overrated to the max, there's nothing new in the game, dual wield? Welcome to the past buddy, already been done. What else was new in halo? A sword, great. How about the new pistol and assault rifle. Wow this game is defently worth the extra money. Espically how the campign levels and long and boring. No suspense or any kind of real action throughout the entire thing.

Halo 2 is overrated.
