Is there going to be any famous RPGs in Wii?
Just curious, is Wii Online too?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Cole on 2006-06-08 at 20:07:32
Wii has Online. One of it's main features is the fact that you can go on their and downland and play almost any previous game for Nintendo Consoles.

What to play that old N64 game? That old NES game? Why not?
It will support full Online along with the DS.

Famous RPG's.....well I know of one...Zelda TP.

The wii price havn't been confirmed, but it's been suggested to be about ~200.

All the Nintendo ones from the olden days, Super Mario 128, Metroid Prime 3, new Legend of Zelda, etc.

And yes, it's Wi-Fi enabled. As will everything else from Nintendo be from now on. Happy days people, truely happy days.

That's like saying DS is a supped up Gameboy, or PS3 is a supped up PS2.

Actaully not really. The DS, maybe. I haven't played any handheld games since Pokemon Silver when it came out. So I don't know how the graphics have evoled for those things. But I have to say that Super Mario DS looks better then Super Mario Deluxe.

The Wii actually isn't all that powerful. And as it turns out, all of the Wii games were actually being played on gamecubes. The revolutions they had out on display where empty plastic boxes with wires coming out that were connected to nothing:
Here
and Here
But that could mean that the Real Wii graphics haven't been shown yet. But Nintendo has said that the graphics are basically not the greatest, and they're pushing the whole "Gameplay is better than graphics" agenda towards everyone at E3.

Gameplay is more important than graphics though. Gamecube had graphics that were good. Getting better graphics than Xbox and Gamecube is basically uneccessary wastes of money. Eventually it'll be so good that you need perfect vision to properly enjoy games.

The Wii is unfinished or at least the graphics card of it. ATI is not done with its design.

If graphics are more important than gameplay then why does EQ hold a higher portion of the MMO market than EQ2? Why does Runescape hold about 5% of the MMO market? And why does WoW hold 50.6% of the MMO Market?

Case Settled. Although im will wondering why Runescape holds about 5% of the MMO market...... Not sure why anyone plays that game.

Also im pretty sure the architecture behind the Gameboy and DS are incredibly different. Take the gameboy design, applying minor modifications, and having a 2d graphics chip output 3D on dual screens...... thats gotta be one hard task. It'd be much easier to use a much more advanced processor and graphics chip thats whole design was made to produce 3D.

That's why I was comparing calling a Wii a supped up gamecube to a DS a supped up gameboy. They're entriely different.

I know.
I was just stating something which basically proves that it's not powerful like a Ps3, or an Xbox360. And Gamecube suffered in a lot of departments. Obviously graphcis aren't EVERYTHING. If they were everything then you'd be buying movies with a "Play Game" menu instead of "Play Movie" and they'd have to run on a Console.

The only department GC failed in was third party support and exterior design. The box was soooooooo ugly. And third party support was pretty skimpy.

Thankfully Wii looks nice and they've 100x more 3rd Party Support.

Throw in Super Cheap Development Kits. Very Easy for developers to code on(no multi processors\Cell). And since you don't need a massive team for the Wii you could fit in a game for 360\Ps3 and a different one for the Wii.

And online, and storage capicty for discs (Though none of the games were pirated?), and it might just be me but the controller wasn't that great either.

I like the controller. I think it's better than the PS2 one, but not as good as the Xbox one.

Yah, your right. I guess I forgot about those.

I would have loved to play some games online, but now that I see the games that I have, PC gaming would still be better.

Disc capacity? It's true the cube can't hold much, but most of the files that take the most space are movies, and especially audio files. On that note, I wasn't bothered at all. I mean you still had amazing voice overs and cutscenes in REmake.

I loved the controller. When I use the PS2 controller, my hand has to scrunch because my bottom two fingers cant grip the controller while keeping my two top fingers on the shoulder buttons. The button layout on the PS2 and Xbox makes pressing more than one button at once difficult. This is why I prefer the cube over the PS2 in Soul Calibur. Finally, I prefer the joystick over the d-pad, which the PS2 does the opposite. The joystick also lacks notches to tell me where up/down/left/right EXACTLY are, unlike the cube which has them.

The Xbox d-pad doesn't feel precise as if you move one direction, you have to shift the entire d-pancake over. The joystick doesn't feel as precise as the cube and like the PS2, it lacks notches. The white and black buttons are in a worse spot than the cubes Z button, but I guess it's okay.

The design of the cube? It's brilliant.

First of all, the cube is the sturdiest of the 3 systems. What people fail to mention is that PS2s break down frequently (many of my friends had to replace theirs), though the Xbox can take a couple hits.

Second of all, the cube is the most portable of the systems. I know there is a slim PS2, but that took a while to finally get made, while the cube has had their handle design from the start.

Third of all, the cube eats the least amount of electricity, compared to twice as much with the Xbox and even more with the 360. That brings me to my other point...

The cube is the only console that started with the powerbox OUTSIDE the console. Then Sony and Microsoft finally got on their asses and figured that out later. Wonder why the Xbox heats up so much? Ps2fat too big? The PS2 slim is small because they took the powerbox OUT of the interior, as with the 360. This is smart because it significantly reduces heat in the console. It's about time you guys.

Lastly, for all this, the cube is the cheapest to buy by $50. You get a small, elegant, YET STURDY console, compared to the landmark that is the Xbox or the brick that is the ps2.

Again, what are the design flaws?

I don't see how that changes anything, Super Smash Brothers Melee online would've been nice. And all the third party shooter ports with online would also be nice.

Stop.
You admited to one of the flaws. This isn't true with all games, but switching between Disc 1 and 2 for Enter The Matrix, is a pain in the ass, as well with other games. However there are games like Tales of Symphonia, which is 50 Hours + that's on a single disc.

The whole controller stuff is all opinion based, I think I said that in my little sentance.

(And Stuff)

Hey I can get a pack of notecards that's more sturdier and portable then the xbox, but if I can't have any fun with it, what's the point?
Yeah the Ps2 crashed a lot in it's early years (I got mine in 2003) I've kicked mine a few times though, it was ok. Xbox I can't speak for, I don't have one. The gamecube having a little handle is nice and everything, but it's not that useful. I rarely took it to other people's house, mainly because there wasn't any games to play on. I actually don't have any games besides James Bond that uses two players.

Online, Disc Capicty, and judging by your tastes, the controller.
