i havent played many valve/steam games. the only one i played is half life 2 which i love. so i guess i don't hate any of their games

Used to play CS a lot, but I find it boring now. I mean I'll play if my friend wants to, but I'm not competitive anymore.
Now I play Hostile Intent which is an amazing game. This game is as close as you can get to going outside and firing a rifle (but don't). There are no ammo numbers, crosshairs, etc. You have to play it real.
Natural-Selection is a somewhat combination of RTS/FPS games. That means it's like Starcraft, but all the units are players, so teamwork is more important. Right now, it's really a focus on who can AIM on the marines or who can play the FADE on the aliens better. That's why I don't like it too much. It's what I dream to make as a developer one day.

CS is so overrated. there are so many shooters that our better...half life 2, and i might be flamed for saying this but halo 1 is better than CS IMO

Counter-Strike is extremely fun. It's Fast Paced and somewhat realistic. It has by far the most realistic bots for offline mode to. My cousin at first thought they were real players...lol. Bots actually work as a team though, far better than people.
I think though Day of Defeat is the Anti-Halo Drug. My cousins loved Halo to death, of course I got them into DoD.....then they found a clan and everything and there stuck to the game.

Actually... There isn't ANY shooters that are better than CS... Halo 1... Console FPS are horrible compared to PC. But in the console FPS world I think H1 is way better than most of the console FPS including Halo 2.

Have you ever played 1.6? If you ever have, then you will notice that Riot Shields are disabled in most servers. Unless you go to really noob servers....
