What deck did/do you use?
I use a Darksteel Collossus and Tooth and Nail deck tongue.gif (Or I do when I play with my friend.)

And Syphon, I'm pretty sure the traditional amount of prizes is 6. At least that's what I always played at Toys R' Us tournaments =\

I prefer the olden days, where I used my awesome lightening bolts and incinerates and fireblasts.

I don't have a deck at the moment, but I do enjoy making fake seals and drafting a deck like in tournaments. smile.gif

LOL!!

STORE BRANDED POKEMON CARD! tongue.gif

I would trade for cards that were good for dueling with, rather than trading for a first edition super rare card that would never help me when I played tongue.gif

I remember at a camp I went to, somebody stole a pokemon card and we all got searched. People were real serious about that game.. mellow.gif

Ahaha, that happened to my elementry school a long time ago. Some little kid of robbed of his Charizard and it was all on the announcements. The teachers would make you feel guilty so the person who stole it would give it back. I forgot what the end result was though.

As awkward as it sounds, I still collect, buy, trade, and play with yu gi oh cards in hopes that one day those will worth fortune...

I also own several hundreds on pokemon cards. I have no idea where I got them. They just came out of no where and became mine.. I don't care...

Well i did collect some pokemons cards and still have them (most of them are the unknowns) but I was gona get yu-gi-oh but then i noticed once you buy a deck you must get more so I just let my friends go ahead and buy them. Like flame soilder #2, blue eyes shining dragon and other srap.

sniff* pokemon brings back a huge wave of Nostalgia for me. A long time ago in a galaxy far far away I used to achieve the rank of 2nd in the City championships. I used to pwn almost everyone who stood in my way. Man my deck was Great.

And then I gave up pokemon to turn into Yu-Gi-Oh, and then I sucked at it.

Now... No I dont play any Trading Card games. It used to be a fun hobby though.

I like TCGs. You don't need to be super good at athletics and the random factor can go either way.

I used to be a BIG pokemon TCG player. I mean I'd make decks, dream of decks, go online and find stuff, wow...

But then one day I came over someone's house and they stole some good cards like Hitmonchan, AHHH. So then I cried and I never looked back.

I put so much value into those cards that I got crushed when I lost them.

Moral of the story is that materials will fade away, so put your value into things you'll keep forever.

And another thing, rich people will abuse the TCG. I mean it's fun to go to the store and hope you get a Charizard or something from your booster pack. Rich people just buy the whole pack and think of how many charizards this time?

So then it turns to using the best cookie cut strategies, which turns me off from games like Starcraft, WArcraft 3, bleh.

That's why I've moved onto board games, but even then, I have nobody to play with. My friends only play WoW, which I'm not forking money a month to play. I also have a cube, which none of my friends own again. So I guess internet play is the only way I have a fair time gaming.

Oh and if you want a videogame TCG, they are great. It's because you don't need to keep buying cards, since the game gives you them for free. Here are two games I played and enjoyed a great deal.

I used to be a big Pokemon fan..... Lost intrest when i moved and nobody played it anymore it got boreing.

Yu-gi-oh was an interesting game to play untill a bunch of little kids started to play it alot and going to the tournaments that I went to so I kept beating them all and it got really boreing...

MTG is a really fun game I played it alot got bored cuz people kept making fun of me for playing it in public and in school a bunch of time. I got sick and tired of it and just quit.

As of right now im dont play any curret trading cards games but if anyone i knew played the game then i would be gladly to play them but untill now im just gonna stick to playing starcraft all day instead of playing cards all day! tongue.gif

When I played the Pokémon cards I used decks I made... Poison + Rock + Psychic is a deck I have right now, <3 Nidokings. I only have old crads though, which are weak by todays 350 HP Feraligtr standards.

And I have the Pokémon TCG videogame. It rocks my socks. Duelists of the Roses is a good TCG video game, if a bit confusing.

Ooh, I wanna help! I get ideas for friggin' awesome games and crazy ability systems daily (they just float into my head when I'm not payin attention during science... maybe that's why I have a D)!

Anyways, I used to collect Pokemon cards and go to little Pokemon TCG meetings at Borders tongue.gif I used to play Yu-Gi-Oh too, but I didn't use the traditional system (no sacrifices, no limit on the amount of cards in your hand, etc.). I also used to play a little Magic, but there was no one to play against, so I stopped. I still have ALL my cards with intent to sell.

Meh, you guys talking alot about pokemon being good. But serioulsy nothing can beat MTG. That is like the original trading card game, when it comes to like dueling others and stuff.

Don't know how old old school worked, maybe you have some card and you just traded with your friend for the heck of it and just keep them. Like a baseball card. But when it comes to dueling and stuff MTG is the best.

And "Pokémon TCG videogame" was a good game. biggrin.gif Seems like the only interesting trading card game out there... Never mind, that Yu-gi-oh trading card game was a big seller also. Not sure how the the card exactly sold but the game did well.

Well Sony is not making a virtual trading card game for PS3. Eye of Judgement, where you place cards on the a dueling board thing, and they actually pop up (in your screen i bet) and you click on them or something and they actually fight. biggrin.gif

Actually, that's a really popular combo. Even among the pros. I'm not rich so I can't get super powerful new cards. My "most expensive" is a foil DCI City of Brass (Yeah!). What you got? tongue.gif

Used to do pkmon like when I was 10 and little while after that when yugioh came out, but I never stuck to em, as they declined in popularity like 6 months later.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Revelade on 2006-06-18 at 01:48:01
I rented Lost Kingdoms 1 and I kind of liked it, but there was a major flaw.

In TCGs you are supposed to battle using your deck against someone elses DECK. This way there's a good chance either side can win.

Using a deck against a stupid monster isn't that fun.

And the reason TCGs die is because people can't find others to play with. Having a deck in a TCG is half the battle. Now you have to find someone ELSE who plays it as well.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-06-19 at 18:26:16
Yeah, I really only play it against my friend, but sometimes I enter tournaments. (Type 1 and type 2.)

And Kellimus.. considering I do well in these tournaments, and considering that is one of the better decks, I'm actually pretty good at it =\

I know I'm a week late at responding to you, though.

I used to play Pokemon when I was smaller, I also played Yu-gi-oh. I gave all my cards to my brother and I don't know what he did with them.

So yeah, I admit it. I DID play them wink.gif

I used to somewhat collect Pokemon cards when it first came out and I really liked Pokemon. I still remember one day when I got a promotional video in the mail for Pokemon and thought how cool it was with the big eyes and stuff. I also remember when my sister got mad at one of our friends and stole part of her deck with a ninetales in it. I still have my album of cards, too. Still have some cards from when I went to see the movies like Ancient Mew and Entei and a Persiand and Pikachu from the Nintendo Magazine. Come to think of it, I got my album for free from that magazine too.

I also collected Yu-Gi-Oh cards back in 6th-7th grade. Got like 200 from my friends and bought maybe a few booster packs. I don't think I have any valueable cards from Yu-Gi-Oh though. I stopped collecting around the time people started to call it Yu-Gay-Ho. tongue.gif Although sometimes when I go into the school library I see like 4 guys playing Yu-Gi-Oh.

Currently, I'm not collecting or playing any trading card games.
