People find celebrities and racecar drivers to be much entertaining to watch on tv, than doctors and scientists. That's just how it is. I just calls em like I sees em.

Minimoose just said it perfectly.

Read people, read, I've been told by a hundred people that we pay the stars for entertainment but we don't to watch commercials.

And you're not paying them for the commercials. The companies for whom they advertise do. If those ads didn't generate more sales than they would have gotten without that person in the commercial, they wouldn't have paid them.

If you knew a company would make $50 million off of you being in their commercial, and that without you, they would not make those $50 million, would you not expect them to pay you a good 10-20 million of that potential profit they'll be making?

By average basketball player, I was referring to the average basketball player in the NBA. Not every player in the NBA is a star you know.

Well then, your point doesn't follow through. For every player in the NBA, theres a few thousand players that are not in the NBA, and don't make anywhere close to a million dollars a year.

That drops the "average" salary of a basketball player far lower than the average doctor's.

Once again: The people who make crazy amounts of money, are *usually* the people who are the best at what they do, whether that's sports, enterntainment, business, etc., etc.

Compared to the elites of the business world, athletes and enterntainers make squat.
