I wonder who would want to diss in a debate. Alchohol is legal because it helps our life a little more than pots.
I am well aware that Pot increases the effects of other drugs...... Pot also results in reduced blood flow, and reddening eye... impairing your vision. this leads to... Lower blood pressure while standing. Higher blood pressure while sitting (note that this can lead to instances of orthostatic hypotension a.k.a. head rush). If you didnt notice... In average, 42 mg is lethal dose for average men.. I have a lot of neighbors who smoke 24 buds a day. If you smoke pot that much a day, it would be fatal within a day or two.[/b] Pot has thousands more effects that are destructive in short term smoking and long term smoking. Even caffein is discouraged... if you know.

I think everything that "hits you in the head" is unhealthy. Alcohol, pot, other drugs...

Should it be legal ? I think no. Yes, people will still use them, but in smaller amounts.

Why is it still a dream ? The Alcohol and cigarrette companies will do everything not to let pot on the market - they will loose profit.

Simply along the lines of what DTBK said. People will continue to use it, though I'm not some raving pot addict, I agree that we might as well make money off it.

Even if it was legal, there would probably be age restrictions like on alchohol and tobacoo.

If Marijuana Were To Be Legal Drugs are a major influential force in our country today. The problem has gotten so out of hand that many options are being considered to control it or even solve it. Ending the drug war seems to be a bit impossible. The war on drugs seems to be accomplishing a lot but this is not true. Different options need to be considered. Legalization is an option that hasn't gotten a chance but should be given one. Although many people feel that legalizing marijuana would increase the amount of use, marijuana should be legalized because it will reduce the great amounts of money spent on enforcement and it will increase our country’s revenue.

It should be legal. Alcohol is worse for you and does worse things to you. A marijuana high doesn't even last that long, especially if you smoke it habitually. You'll never overdose on marijuana either, I guarentee it.

I just have a problem with the way a lot of the people who want it legalized go about it. They masquerade like its some righteous cause, or whatever. But why can't they just be honest and say: "I want it legalized so I can get as high as I want without penalty!"

Most of the people who want it legalized don't have the purest intentions in mind, so stop pretending. Stop insulting my intelligence.

I honestly could care less whether it was legal or illegal. However, I just don't understand why it's illegal, and quite frankly, I don't think someone who's never done it, (not saying YOU haven't done it, but some here haven't) can try to tell me why it's illegal, because you haven't experienced the effects of it. "Disguisting" isn't a good reason to why it should be illegal, chewing tobacco is disguisting in my opinion, but it's not illegal.

Possibly because Marijuana is bad for you. Last I knew, it was a good idea to stay away from Mary Jane! She kills you know. Its bad, its illegal, get used to it!

I do not see you list one reason here on why it is bad for you. Also, I have never heard of anyone dying because of "smoking too much marijuana", it doesn't kill you.

DTBK, what I was getting at was there are worse legal substances than marijuana. Marijuana doesn't really even impair your driving skills. The only reason marijuana is illegal here is because the government makes way too much money off of their drugs.

I personally think it should be legalized... I like doing it, it's a recreational thing to me just like playing games or anything else of the sort. I like to contemplate, play music, write stories, laugh, be inspired, and anything else related. It's a fun activity for me and of course, anyone who else does it. Although, there are those certain people out in the world who are going to take major advantage over the legalization of it (if it ever happens) and smoke weed till kingdom come and create problems, hazards and what have you. Tsk tsk tsk... But who knows to what degree those problems would rise by? How do we know just how much danger society is with the possible legalization? Weed makes people calm, tired, and shy, happy, friendly, etc. But of course, we cannot leave out those certain people who become violent with emotions, anger and hate and want to kick someone's ass for something real stupid. There will always be those people... But how many are there compared to the ones who aren't like that? Hopefully not very many, and if so, there's little threat to society when everybody who's high on the drug wants to either A) Sleep B) Eat C) Work D) Relax E) Academics F) Outdoor activities G) Socialize etc. I'd say the negativities of legalizing are not all that dramatic, perhaps the possible legislation could even lower them. Right now, all we can do is use current knowlege and predict the future.

I like the smells of it.. unlike cigarettes which just make you choke.

Pot laws are looser in Alaska than just about anywhere else in the country. Possessing small amounts of the drug for personal use is a privacy right protected under the state's constitution, the Alaska Supreme Court has upheld. Alaska is one of 11 states that allows the use of medical marijuana.

We've already discussed how bad it is for you. Medically, it's way worse than alcohol, especially for the amounts people drink.

Edit: Also, it may not kill you the way heroin might, but it's still proven to harm you.

Doesn't the effect of marijuana depend on what kind your smoking?

I know somebody who makes tea out of the stuff, and occasionally eats it raw.

He claims this way he does no harm to himself, what with the tar in smoking it, and still gets high.

Personally, I'm not going to lie. I believe it should be legalized. But you must understand, either if it is legalized or not, the rates of alchohol is going to remain stable simply due to the fact that 98% of teenagers are getting their hands on it illegally. Either way, people are going to continue to drink, but just be able to get their hands on pot in a much more legalized way.

Not really, it hasen't been proven to harm you at all. Alcohol causes many internal problems, unlike its counterpart, marijuana. If there are effects from what I know, is just a high/stoney feeling and possibly an mental addiction. Please explain these effects that it causes Kow.

Yes. There are two types of marijuana that I currently know of ( ):

-Hydrolized marijuana (hydro or dro for short) is is a much, much lighter green and actually gives a high which makes you feel as if you are currently living in a dream.

-Regular marijuana (most common and the cheaper of two) is a much darker green (a forest green) and gives the stony feeling of sleepyness.

PS: Yes, smoking marijuana impairs your driving ability. Simply due to the fact you can simply zone out on something when your high or stoned. Those who say it dosen't don't know anything.

Okay, I'm going to admit that Marijuana is very harmfull. As well as cigarettes and alcohol. Since cigarettes and alcohol is already proven worst then pot, then why cant pot be legalized.

It will cut down on the rate of people going to jail and save the government money.
