Somehow, someday i know we will be able to manipulate whatever sound we want, and have units speaking whatever and whenever we want them to... I mean look at we have done today, nobody would have guessed how far mapmaking has gotten.....

Idea: Have a 16x16 pixel location (the smallest possible location) over a given unit. When that unit moves out from that location, then it must have either received a move order or it's chasing/running from something. Set a switch, then import a custom wav to play, like a "yes sir" or something generic like that.

To replay the wave for each new movement it begins, have a location that recenters onto it at intervals based on the unit's movement speed. If the unit is still in the location in the time it would take for it to move out of it after the recenter (if it was still moving), clear the switch, which'll allow the wav to replay when it is detected moving out of its location again. It won't be fool proof, but I'm sure someone can find something creative to do with that (like footsteps or something).

didnt Bolt all ready do that in House of the Haunted?

I don't think so...

Anyways, maybe we should all wait for those guys making that StarCraft mod for WarCraft III. Then you can make custom units and then put different voices in! closedeyes.gif

i think he asked for it without a mod... there is 1 thing (i didnt read everything so i dont know if it is mentioned) but mute all player speech.. then get a mp3 editor and put the words together as you like... i use to have a mp3 editor and i mixed my favorite songs quite well... i got it off of www.download.com but i dont know what exactly i looked for... after you edit whatever you need to.. you may need to convert from mp3 to wav... neways if you want to go through the trouble, by my guest (i think the program was called Audio Editor) of course u would have to do it so that the unit speach is activated every time the unit moves... and to have it more relastic have it randomate which saying it does... but if you want to do this for EVERY character it might become a very big map very quickly

The Movies will be a great game and it comes out like this week i think. It will be great b.c you can add voices to characters and add your own songs to it and stuff. So if you want to have ur voice in ur movie you make in that game then you can. SC is fine with the voices it has now lets just hope if SC2 ever comes out that 3d dont hurt its look and they allow mods to be played on bnet. I am sure someone will make a mod that reverts SC2 to SC where its in 3d glory but same great love lol. If SC2 ever comes out that is.

You can change pretty much anything about the game, but you wont be able to use it on battle.net. I think it would be awesome if blizzard made mod servers, or if people made their own servers for modded starcraft games.

I think you could change the unit's voice quotes and still be able to play on b.net, but it would not effect what the other people are hearing.

As far as mission briefings go, you can import and use any sounds that you want...

Theres some mods today that are playable on bnet as long as the other person has it..

I think you can edit using MPQ to fetch the files of your own custom made wavs, Ill test it when I get back to my computer.

First off, I'd like to point out that T.s.u.k.a.s.a has his map making skill set to Advanced but he is clearly MENTALLY RETARDED! Honestly, how can someone so stupid even type? SC has been out for 6 years, people aren't going to go out and make a bunch of custom sounds for people to use in their maps. Also, if you make custom sounds, you add them to the map dumbasses. You can't reference sounds from the MPQ that only exist on your computer because it will crash the other players. Also I am almost 99% sure any mods you make can be played on Battle.net as long as the other person playing has them. If you want custom sounds however without having to do anything special, the method is simple. Record the sounds, upload them to the map, and use them in the triggers. Woop dee :censored:ing doo.
