Too bad the left tile isn't buildable. That still looks stupid though.
Just so you know most doodads arent buildable.
I'd hate to count them all but I'm fairly certain there are more buildable doodads than unbuildable. All the bushes, bones, and coral really add sup.
Sorry, that isn't buildable... You can just use the tiles...

I think jello means that the doodads themselves, placed as doodads not tiles, are unbuildable. But all doodads placed that way are...
And if the little twig thing is the shadow grass, its only soso, there are better blends on that map.
The shadow grass is hidden in the very bottom right corner of the map, you must have been talking about the one on high dirt which is indeed soso. Thats an old map but ill try to compile a larger better map in a while.
Oh... Shadow and Grass... Sweet... I like all of the other stuff you squeezed in tht map... Very good.
ADDITION:
Hey Desperado, I was checking out some of your doodads, and I saw one that I thought I could expand on... Tell me what you think.

Also, you didn't do any of these, so I just added some in my map copy.
[attachmentid=20244]
Anyways, say what you think.
Lol. I read this whole thread word by word. Found out some very useful stuff in it. I expecially like that map Desperado. Helped me a lot.
And for the shadow grass..lol nice...Cant see how youd make it, but thats prob cause im a noob at this stuff.
Shadow grass is ridiculously easy and basically worthless...
Jello, the custom doodad you expanded on is definetly much better the way you did it. I was using stuff from my Jungle Index in one of my maps and I realized those doodads were horrendous on their right side, but now they are updated as yours are and are actually useful.
The file on the first page is updated.. grass and mud have been updated and rocky ground has been added. Those terrain types have been pulled apart in a different.. much more accurate and useful way.

Thanks. I would have never seen it had you never shown me the map.
Just goes to show that two minds on one project are better than one.
ADDITION:
Haha I just noticed a pretty cool trick... I was playing one of my old maps w/ super bocky terrain, and it was driving me crazy! So what I did was I turned down my monitor brightness by like 10% and WHALLA! Looked totally natural! Ugly terrain --> Good terrain in the time it takes to turn down your brightness by 10%!
I prefer to make my monitor as sensetive to blockiness as it can get without fooling me. The gift of sight and abillity to know when something is blocky before your friends see it, is a must!
Dont be a weenie. lol
. it was just a joke. its like you dont have a sense of humor...
Whoa, a three for one offer we gots here! I'll check out all the maps later tonight when I have the oppurtunity too.
