Any way to work with this possibly? It makes a nice seam, but it doesn't blend in the right direction.

ADDITION:

How about that one instead?

I think the latest one is probably the best one so far...

How about that? Problem is it's too open, so units can get over it easier than the real ramp.

Grrr, need something that looks good and works well. I know it's there somewhere...

Sprites "can" be used, but they are not blends at all.

Instead of fixing the bad parts, you hide them. = no good.

I really like the ones you used the floor doodads on. Espcially the latest one. Looks good and gets the job done while not driving your eyes to drink from the height problems of the others.

Ok I tweaked the one with traps a bit more. Now it has good physical form (blocks units like the real ramp would), holds correct elevation when climbing it, and at least doesn't appear blocky. Doesn't look all that great, though.

True. I vote for the floor trap one, as it looks the least blocky and looks like it's a ramp. That was a good one.

EDIT: Rofl, the new version got posted before I finished posting. It also looks good.

The problem with space "high-low" is that the only doodads that blend correctly is "Plating". So i used the edges of the "HighPlating" and i merged it with LOTS of other pieces. I got a few things, but nothing that looks good.

I think your best chance would be the floor traps. I'm still going to be working on the space "low to high backwards" ramp

Yeah, but I'm wondering if those bridge tiles don't still hold the answer in this one. They're close to being able to blend with the high platform, but just can't seem to get it.

Maybe there's some additional tiles or effect to smooth out between the two...?

Tux im pretty lazy of a d00d but if you could send me a map containing your trap ramp thing, id like to try and blend it. smile.gif

I know this looks like crap. But thats not the point. The point is that in the high plating there are dodads. These little broken peices of wood sorta blend with the low to lower ramp.

I also used a part of the "bridge" that had a good effect. This was just a quick concept and not even close to being blended, but this shows what types of terrain could possibly work out with more time.

An inward ramp? Interesting idea. My only concern is it might affect gameplay, though. It'd be easier to pelt things coming up that have to get closer to reach the high ground than a normal ramp, where when they get close to the edge they're already on the high ground.

Still, it's not that significant. I'll play around with it and see if I can find anything good.

No it looks more like a roof than ramp. Like I would have the feeling that I can go under it not climb it. ermm.gif

It does, i say you should edit it, so it actually does look like its going down.

As for yours dark templar 99, good idea. But how would they be able to walk on it? Wont the doodads effect walking up and down the 'inward ramp'?

Yeah, lol... i was just getting the tiles on the ground to visualize what could go with what. I didn't even try to make a ramp yet. That image was just tiles that go from low ground to high ground but walkable

When i get home from school i'll be messing around with that to make a ramp. I know i can do it.
