also think about doing moving tic tac toe. its on 3 by 3 squares like in regular tic tac toe, but after youve placed the frist 3 units, instead of placing more, you just move your previous guys one square up down left or right. (not diagonal) just an idea

You mean move or copy ? If you mean move, please explain because I don't understand how can it work.
ADDITION: I had to fux around with grids a lot to get some of them working. OK, Now I gotto create one more grid and then I can copy the triggers to Player 2.
ADDITION: There, Player 2 has his own set of triggers now. All I need is to test it with DEAD.

moving tic tac toe is just a funner version of tic tac toe, where after setting up your frist 3 pieces, on the next turn instead of placing a fourth, you move one of your first pieces. you still try and get 3 in a row and everything, just different gameplay

I see. Well, I wanted to create the original Tic-Tac-Toe.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Zeratul_101 on 2006-09-22 at 14:46:47
well, DEAD wasn't very much help . After 3 hours of testing, the first two games were worth it
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JaFF on 2006-09-22 at 14:47:39
Oh my God... After about 3 hours of testing with Zeratul_101, we finally managed to debug it and make at atleast playable. This is the creation of the Beta version. Still choppy, but playable...
A lot of polishing needs to be done.
Damn, you beat me to it, Zeratul

O lol, i thought he was doing it for both of your maps. My bad.
When are you going to be finish the terrain I want screenshots

don't be too eager for them right now, you don't realize quite how ugly the terrain is. great game though, my and Jammed has tons of fun playing it. not so much fun debugging it though.

Awww you got to it before i could I was gonna create Tic-Tac-Toe after i completed Slap Jack (if i do)
Well its a great idea... Do you have to have the 15x15 or can they choose for a bigger area or smaller one?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Zeratul_101 on 2006-09-22 at 18:24:40
right now, its a mandatory 15x15. if you change it and make me test it again, Jammed, i won't love you anymore.
ps your sig is very disurbing.

how would it be possible to pick the size of board. Different terrain boards and they choose?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JaFF on 2006-09-23 at 05:13:16
It is possible to pick the size of the board. Basically, all I will have to do for it:
-Make 4 locations that are the current border a bigger -Make a trigger that moves them into the board itself, thus changing it's working size -Think of a way to vizually show the new border. Now, the stationary border is shown by creep.

have you begun to polish up the terrain and triggers yet?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JaFF on 2006-09-24 at 03:57:11
I'm remaking the detection system. Now you will not be teleported to a waiting area. And yes, I can call it polishing. Though some debugging must be done

Whoa ! That's a good idea
I didn't use a defiler because there can be situations when he can be blocked by units, but this totally solves the problem, and makes it easy to use.
Thanks a lot
Why not a Scanner sweep? Instant access without having to wait for corsair to move. Plus, in the triggers, the person who scanned actually owns the sweep.

scanner sweeps aren't detectable
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JaFF on 2006-09-27 at 15:46:34
Anyway, I'm not going to use Scanner Sweep even if it works - I have mines set the grid, and it will detect them.

did it work with a bring condition...?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Urmom(U) on 2006-09-27 at 18:02:57
I don't believe that you can center locations on scanner sweeps though. Time to test!
Here are my results: You cannot detect Scanner Sweep with the bring condition. You can detect Scanner Sweep witht he command condition. You cannot center locations on Scanner Sweep. Scanner Sweeps can be removed.
