Yeah, when I heard it was about WoW, I downloaded it through torrents.. it was funny.. the next day we talked about it in school..
Wow and I thought the nerds playing Runescape was hardcore but yes ther is the occasional people who play tens of hours of a game gettting addicted to it, and sure if you dont have a strong mind or a strong game addiction breaking habit it could possibly kill you if you're one of those people. Anyway If you're dropping out of school to play a stupid game when you suck at it and its not very profitable you're choosing not to become a pro.
Anyway killing himself... I dont know how to describe this in words.
That video was just shocking to see a person drop out of school for what, that game?
But I blame the parents. Like yesterdays episode of Oprah (yes I do watch it) they were talking about how some parents spoil there children with games, clothes music and money and then they end up in these loop-holes.
As for world of warcraft that kid was proboly spoiled and soon after it got into his brain he just couldnt stop and who knows in 1 month he'll drop dead on that same computer.
So here we have it. Blizzard entertainment has created a big evil apon us.
Also youtube banned all of the Make love not warcraft episode.
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...t&search=SearchToo be off topic here but imagine if they did a south park episode about starcraft 2.
Then the real case would begin.
After a while, wouldn't an MMO just become repetitive? I've been playing games for like eight years now, but I've never become addicted to any of them or to gaming in general. I find it hard to make myself do one game for more than a few hours at a time, and I can usually only do shooters for an hour a session. I think that if people get addicted, they probably have some psychological problems to begin with.
*cough maplestory
Honestly, I don't know how people play MMORPGs for countless hours... I mean, I use a computer for like 8 hours a day when I can, but I don't do the same thing over and over...
Good news everyone. The make love not warcraft episode is online again. Watch it before its banned again.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-TqCR6RwhkAlso if you look carefully you can see starcraft posters and a protoss!!
Meh, I don't see how WoW is so addicting that it makes you play for 6+ hours a day... I can play it at most 2 hours a day before getting bored.

Everyone have their own perspectives and they like repetitive play etc etc, but basically other people seem to like it and constantly play it; either that or they dont want to waste 30 dollars or more a month just to keep your account or get playing rights.
For some reason that video cuts off at 4:22 for me, right before they explain the Chinese child committing suicide.
But when I read that thing that said: "Parents are suing Blizzard...", I'm like "WTF?". Honestly, I think it's more the parents fault for not teaching their child that a game is just a game. If that kid honestly believes that he can't live without joining that "Heros" thing then obviously the parents shoulda gotten a psychiatrist for him.
The video keeps freezing up....
Theres no way the parents have the power to sue blizzard. It's really the parents fault for letting the child play and now take action.
For crying out loud why didnt they just cut internet cable.
I think it's weird.. i think you should just stick with warcraft 3. It's fun and you don't have to pay. You get the same outcome.. (nerdy)
He claims that he can quit at any point if he wants to. But he doesen't want to. That's called being addict. Any smoker can give up smoking at any time, but doesen't stop because he doesen't want to.
Y'know something, MOST addicts claim that they can quit whenever they want. They fool themselves into thinking they still have some sort of control over what's going on, when addiction is quite the opposite.
Thats very true... I think. Keep a WoW Addict away from computer for 3 hours. I bet he can't stand it.
I think get addict or not depens on your IQ, I belive on it by the things I saw till today
Do you mean IQ instead of QI? Because that has nothing to do with addiction, it's pretty much about psyche, if you are having a bad mentality then you usually are not strong enough to let go of things, example WoW.
I think it depends on psyche also, but IQ matter more
IQ doesn't matter in an addiction, it just helps one realize how addicted they are. I believe addictions occur due to social and internal pressure.
You should see the newest south park episode about World of Warcraft.
