So you're saying Americans are retarded because they can't afford to live where they work? I think you truly do not know the situation in the United States and talk about it as if you know everything, which you obviously do not. People, in all parts of the United States, can walk to where they need to buy necessities or go to the nearest corner store or supermarket.
However, we still are at war with the nation of Iraq.
As much as I disagree with the occupation of Iraq, I have to disagree with you here. It is more the resilience of the religious leaders to adopt to a new regime than the inability of United States propaganda.
Not nearly as many.

I am american. I live in the suburbs outside Saint Louis and I know
absolutely first hand the arrogance and laziness of americans. In cities like Chicago, Saint Louis, Columbus, and all over California, people are opting for longer and longer commutes because they want the cheapest land possible. In the suburbs I live in you cannot walk to a supermarket, and neither can the majority of the people in the area. Instead they must drive downtown, and even when they are downtown they have to continue to use their car to get around to the places they need.
This phenomenon, known as Urban Sprawl has resulted in the amount of land taken up by houses increasing by 50% during a period in which population only grew by 0.5%: one half of a percent! Meanwhile the cities themselves lose out on the income from taxes of commuters and become more and more run down, crime increases, infrastructure becomes run down as well. Roads become incredibly clogged, as here a pair of bridges serves all of east saint louis and the illinois metro area.
The story is the same in Chicago where sprawling "industrial" areas have also taken up large areas of land, while actually creating no jobs.
In Columbus, Ohio, the city size has increased rapidly, while population has actually decreased!
This waste of land translates to a waste of gas, time and productivity as well.
