"Thirdly, you can imagine a world in which these extremists and radicals got control of energy resources. And then you can imagine them saying, we're going to pull a bunch of oil off the market to run your price of oil up, unless you do the following. And the following would be along the lines, well, retreat and let us continue to expand our dark vision, or it would be, give up your alliance with Israel because part of our objective is to destroy your ally."

... Told you. Also.. I'm gonna bet anything there will be someone who will say "He didn't mean oil..."

I personally believe Bush went to war with Iran because Saddam threatened to kill his father George Bush Senior.

Bush went to war with IRAQ. And most Americans knew there weren't any WMDs in Iraq. We obviously went for the oil and the economic boom that often comes from a war. I guess he didn't realize even more countrys would hate us now.

Americans are the wierdest people in the world. They are outraged with the oil prices, and they are also outraged with the war for oil. Which contradicts each other, thus wierd.

But were not really getting any oil from Iraq. We actually got higher gas prices because they burned all the oil refinerys.

This is already a dead topic. We all know that the US is there for Oil. There's no point in discussing it for the 100'th time.

I don't think you can read that far into what he said.

Your oil prices went down because of the war dumbtards. Why do you think the US is trying to redevelope the country? To have a effective government that sides with the US and supports US with oil
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Tango on 2006-11-09 at 18:22:00
The United States isn't taking the oil, they are still paying for it. Otherwise you would see countries like Russia and China invade also.

Actually the gas prices have been very high these past couple years (2+)
Only recently the prices have been dropping, who knows, maybe democrats bring cheaper gas prices...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by EcHo on 2006-11-09 at 22:33:31
Gas prices went down because Election day was near and the Republicans wanted more votes by lowering gas prices.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TheDaddy0420 on 2006-11-09 at 22:54:40
Hahaha yeah that explains it

But indirectly thats the Democrats fault so praise them for their good deeds.

Actually, they don't use oil as much as the US does, Russia has like every 8 people has a car, and China, don't know haven't done much research about them yet. The US is like, every 2 people has a car.

The U.S. has the biggest Oil consumption in the world. It is an undeniable fact.

The gas prices dropping was because the oil companies around the US started making more oil, and they still haven't used the oil reserve in Alaska. You had better thank the war. Oil doesn't get ex/imported while in a war. The Iraq is starting to stabilize, and of course. The oil is in the U.S.'s hands practically.

Atleast I don't hear people blaming the USA for the UN's food for oil fiasco, but we are the richest nation per citizen and we have soo much open space we have to travel alot to get from one spot to another. My mom has to travel 40 minutes before she can get to work every day and 40 minutes back. Every time I want to go to walmart or any real shopping centers its 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back, and now I am going to be able to drive because i just got my permit.
