Who are you replying too?
Anyways, thats common sense. Its obvious a person would be tired in real life when they wake up.

I was replying to Other, and yes, but I wasnt sure what he meant by not getting off because he was tired. And I was wondering why he was tired.

Basically everyone is tired when they wake up because their body shut down for some rest for about 5-8 hours or less or more depending on their sleep.

Yes, but if it was in his dream it would make no sence for him to net get off in his dream. He was able to have sex but not get off? Happens yes, but not because of being tired.

Get off the bed? While awake? Yeah thats what happens in lucid dreams. Your body becomes immobile.

What? You move when you are in lucid dreams? News to me. I was just saying how could someone be having sex in a dream but not get off while in a dream because of tiredness.

You mean wake up? Or get off during intercourse while in the dream?

QUOTE(Other @ Nov 23 2006, 06:28 PM)
Dreams have always been fascinating to me and I've read a lot of articles about dreams.  One topic about dreams that is particularly fascinating to me is lucid dreaming.  You can find some information about lucid dreaming here if you don't know what it is.  I have had three lucid dreams in my life, all within the past six months, I believe.  My question is, who else experiences this and what level of control do you have in these dreams?

I've had different levels of control in these dreams.  My control has increased little by little in each dream.

The first one I had I realized half-way through the dream that I was dreaming, but I couldn't really affect what was going on, I just knew I was dreaming, which I can best describe as being part of a movie that you're watching.  This was a pretty happy dream, I ended up going out with this girl that I had a crush on for a while, tongue.gif I'm a nerd.

In the second lucid dream I knew I was dreaming, and I could affect things in a regular life kind of way.  I tried to fly, but failed.  The dream also went downhill when I was in a bar and some guy started attacking me lol.  When this began to happen I became frightened and tried to make myself wake up, which I didn't succeed at.

In the latest dream I was able to control what I did as well as what some other people did.  I ended up having sex with the hottest girl in my school, pretty awesome stuff.

I'm hoping that in the next lucid dream I'll be able to do supernatural things such as fly.  Any thoughts on this?

I would like to say that nothing in this post actually seems, unique or special to me, yes i have had 'lucid dreams' however at the looks of it, so has quite a few people. I will now share my most memorable and weird concepts that i have.

When i was a child, i had lost my gameboy cable and had been searching for months on end, i couldn't find it anyywhere i looked. One night in my dream i found it in a red box that was in my cupboard. The next day upon awakening i went and checked if it was there, and as you have most likely guessed, it was there. Now this may just of been a dream of me remembering where i put it, or a dream of me finding it, i don't know but either way it wasn't there when i had been checking before.

Even younger then that i had a nightmare, which most of you will probably get a kick out of, but in this nightmare i was laying in my bed, and then little smurf like characters were attacking me, tying me down, throwing pies at me, and basically neglecting me, the dream felt so amazingly real, that i could feel myself turning in my bed as i could see myself turning in my dream, then the following morning i was in serious disbelief that it was actually just a dream and extremly traumatized.

de ja vu, as most of you may know is when you dream, or imagine something happening, and then later on in your life, those exact events happen. However mine seem to have a twist, whenever i dream this stuff, something bad will always happen e.g me dying, me getting dumped by my girlfriend or something else unpleasant to me. It may be several months or even years before the actual de ja vu occurs, one of my latest most disturbing de ja vu was my girlfriend dumping me, and i had this dream before i even met her. Now the problem is it never happens, after a long line of events the problem that occured in the dream, never actually occurs. I was talking about this the otherday with a friend of mine and he said it's not de ja vu because not everything matches up. However i question that because i can remember almost every detail, who im talking to, where we was and i sometimes don't even hear their voices but i recognize the lip movements so i can tell it was that exact momment of my dream.

I've also experienced sleepwalking, it's quite weird really -- i went to sleep in my bed, woke up halfway through the night downstairs on my couch, i turned to my mom and said -- what am i doing down here? and she replied
"you came down here and i asked you why you was awake and all you could say was what" on other occasions i've woken up on the opposite side of my bed, or on my top bunk of my bed.

Now im not saying this is weird or special, however all i know is it happens way too often to me and i can control it relatively well to the extent that; yes, in a dream i have been able to fly, i have been able to control exactly what goes on, feel what happens in real life, i can wake myself up when i want to and i have found a nice way to know when i need something in real life for example; to go toilet, get food or drink. The worst part about all this for me, is that when you have dreams that become so realistic that you can control it and feel it, when you have a nightmare, it seems and feels so much realer, so before you say something like "oh i want more control over my dreams" know that when something like a dream becomes so realistic, the nightmares also become realistic.

Wait. Isnt that called wet dream? Wet dream is when you have these sexual dreams and when you wake up, you ejaculated in real life while you were sleeping.

That is correct. However, I'm not sure that all dreams involving sexual encounters are in fact wet dreams. I would also guess that a lucid dream would be less likely to be a wet dream, because you're more solidly in the dream, if you know what I mean.

I've had dreams in which I dreamed that the current dream was a reoccurring dream. As in, inside the dream I know it's a dream and know it's familiar but when I wake up I know I didn't have that dream before.

Yes, personally I find that's actually quite common. Sort of like deja vu.

Since I take a skeptical stance towards any sort of supernatural phenomena, I would say you probably just remembered putting it there in your dream. Some psychological tests have shown that everyone may have a photographic memory, like that of a savant, but most of us just can't access it.

Uh, no, deja vu is when you think you've been through a situation before, but you actually haven't.

I had the oddest experience in a dream last night. I was dreaming that I had flown out of a car (don't ask why, long story) and as I was falling I thought "Wait a minute, I'm dreaming, so falling won't suck that much. Wait a minute, this is a lucid dream; I was just reading about those. I'll try to control it so I can fly away...crap..." and then I woke up as I hit the ground. It was odd, though.

I'm pretty sure when you can remember it in as much detail as i can then you'd know you've been there before.

Addition:
Just for you, i went to wikipedia to back my statement up.

The "previous" experience is most frequently attributed to a dream, although in some cases there is a firm sense that the experience "genuinely happened" in the past.

Alright I'm going to try to clear up all this confusion about why I couldn't "get off" in my dream (by get off I mean ejaculate). I was physically tired IN THE DREAM. I was extremely tired to the point that I just couldn't thrust anymore or anything so I couldn't get off. Hope that clears it up.

Shocko I am very skeptical about foresight and whatnot as well and I honestly don't believe you. I think that you remembered your dream very vaguely and when something that seemed similar happened, you connected them in your mind and believed that you had dreamed about it before. I'm not trying to discount you, I just really am very skeptical against that sort of thing.

Thanks for clearing that up Other. Now it makes more sence to me why you couldnt.

Echo, what do you mean by that could possibly be from past experience? Am I missing something here?

Possibly that person was trapped in a place they couldnt get out of. For example a closet. That might have been changed into a form of having intercourse and not getting off tongue.gif

So a person was stuck in a closet so he couldnt get off during intercourse?

I dont get what you are trying to say. Do you mean that he has had something bad to him about that person so he may not have been able to because of this?

Well lets put it this way. The person had a bad experiance and it was shifted into another concept but different scene

During the same dream? How could someone have a bad experience in something and have it cause them to not get off during intercourse. Would it be with that person?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by EcHo on 2006-11-24 at 23:32:54
Basically, the mind stores up many experiences and it is shown in dreams in rare occasions. Mostly if it affected them a lot.

Ok, then I get you right, It was that closet thing that screwed me up.

So what you mean is that a past thought that somewhat conflicted with that dream could have caused him to become tired or not be able to get off.
