I like terrain, because it is hard to make, and unique, unlike triggers, which can easily be copied from someone and no one will realize it. Terrain is what makes your map personal, but I agree that the real purpose is to make it available for others to use, such as myself, but might as well use it yourself to make your map l00k k3wl

Terrain is just like triggers, if you make a whole new system such as Tuxedo's shooter, Rush or like Mp)3's Everarcha RPG: The Avarian Chronicles, that were a complete revolution to the map making community. They certainly have a unique feel, not by the terrain, but the systems and the triggers.
Also you can easily copy someone's terrain without people noticing it unless they are looking into it, just like triggers.
