Metallica is on there Megadeth is not.
Audioslave is on there Rage Against the Machine is not.

Instantly accurate.

There is a severe lacking of Linkin Park on there though.

Emo music turns you emo, which is a fate worse than gay.

Some members of this whole forum are emo, I think you should respect my feelings wink.gif tongue.gif

I reckon music can influence people to become gay, if you listen to stuff like fergie with songs like fergielicious, it's made for girls not guys, then guys are all dancing queer then some queer guy is like "hey maybe he's queer ill go make out with him" then before you know it, they're back at one of their houses, all vassed up and let the night just "slide away" (pun intended)

Also I think jay-z is a horrible rapper and he would make people deaf not gay.

I understand that this could be true seeing as christians think video games are too violent... like seriously... video games arn't violent *goes on SC and wins a 1vs8 fasest battle in which there is 100 000 casualties*

I think you are all listening to the wrong kind of music, metallica is just awful in my eyes, it's so old school rock with a leather jacket sorta thing. You need newer, fresher bands like Rise Against, Taking Back Sunday, Funeral for a Friend, Billy Talent, Bleed the Dream, Fall Out Boy, NoFX, Three Days Grace, 3 doors down and maybe an instrumental or two. I have two really good songs made by like 15 and 16 year olds, add me on msn and ill send you it. ( row__@hotmail.com )

If I could punch you in the face, I would. If Funeral for a Friend, Bleed the Dream, Fall Out Boy, and Three Days Grace don't make you emo. Then MCR shouldn't by any standards.

Nirvana

I wonder if that's because he was recognised to be so against homophobia, telling people that if they hated any race, homosexuals etc, he didn't want them buying his albums or going to his concerts. "I would like to get rid of the homophobes, sexists, and racists in our audience. I know they're out there and it really bothers me. (1992)"

blink.gif Some ppl commit suicide due to stress or related situations. Those ppl did not commit suicide because they saw some1 do it on t.v. or heard about it. Another example is the ppl that threw themselves out of the twin towers. Not because they it was on a song, but because they chose to.

Of course, some people are kind of extremistic. Like Ku Klux clan, they hate black people, and they once posted something like: Don't hang out with ethnics, you will be dead by tomorrow morning. It's offensive, but it gave them a lot of publicity. This sect might be wanting the same thing. Publicity.

True, I don't think that they tested any of this. Maybe the guy that was listening to the music was gay, and finaly discovered that he was gay, and blamed it on the music. ermm.gif

Hard to believe, as he's a christian fundamentalist. He'd rather write it to get credit among fellow fundamentalists, than telling the world he's a gay christian fundamentalist.
That wouldn't make sense.

Bleh. Such nonsense is best left ignored.

Like I said, you can't use the organization itself to back up any statements. "Hey we all hate that group, therefore everything they say is invalid!" How does that make any logical sense? The question is asking if music can make you gay, and so far no one has given a solid argument against what I've said.
QUOTE
I don't believe in the intentions of this "Christian" group, but I wont allow it to sway my opinion. I still have my doubts as to whether this idea can be valid or not.

You see in society today that many children who grow up in gay families tend to be gay themselves. Reason being? Not genetics, not pure coincidence, but influence. Influence is really the only reason we do anything (aside from genetic traits that alter the outcome of influences). Being homosexual isn't a "choice" obviously, but that leads many people to the false impression that homosexuals are just by default, homosexual.

Example:
A man is an athiest, but he wasn't an athiest when he was born. Does that mean he chose to become athiest? No, he simply put information together and it led to him believing that there was no god. You can't choose what you believe in no matter how hard you try. The man may deny his beliefs and pretend to be a Christian, but if you don't believe in god, you are by definition, an athiest.

The idea that homosexuals cannot choose to be homosexual just validates more evidence that if you listen to certain music, you may become gay without your own approval. Sad music can induce sadness, Religious music can induce religion, Angry music can induce defiance. Why can't homosexual music induce homosexuality?

Well, this is stupid. Whoever put that up either thinks theyre really funny but in reality are fags themselves or are the biggest mean persons ever.

Oddly enough though I don't listen to any of the music on the banned list but I listen a lot to the safe list...

I shared this with my Activism class and we pretty much made fun of it for 15 minutes. We're probably gonna submit some "gay" and "safe" bands.
