So there is this huge news thing in Sweden about a Christian sect that has listed a few bands that they find "not safe" because they might make you gay, at least what they think.
On the site (http://www.lovegodsway.org/) the "sect" has listed a few bands that they warn people for because they might make you gay, some of them are Frank Sinatra, The Pet Shop Boys, Metallica, Jay-Z, Nirvana and The Rolling Stones. They also made a little list of bands that are "safe", in that list we have Evanescence, P.O.D and Cyndi Lauper.

I have no idea if this thing is true or false but I guess it's a hoax that some person came up with to make some attention.

So, what do you think about this? Can you become gay by listening to music? Is this site a hoax or not?

So how do they make you gay? ~.~ I think it's bullcrap.

Yeah, I agree with Deathawk. I can't imagine music making someone gay, even with subliminal messages and stuff.

Sexual orientation is not a state of mind, therefore you cannot "become gay".

I think being gay is based on how you are raised. But I obviously have no proof.

I have my personal theories on what can influence sexual orientation, but music isn't involved. tongue.gif

I've felt my testosterone level drop after listening to crappy music, but I don't think I would ever turn gay after prolonged exposure. tongue.gif

I think that someone's in denial.

If this were real, at least 30% of America's population would be gay. Then again...

Cyndi Lauper would definitely make me gay before any amount of Jay-Z would.

Click five is definitely some homo-music.

If there's safe music, I don't think it's Evanesence. After listening to one of their songs I usually dream about David Hasstlehof.

Note: Evanescence is Christian rock. Jay-Z is rap.

I think they just don't like non-Christian music. tongue.gif

Music can't turn you gay...
People that listen to rock music consider emo music gay..but seriously, music turning people gay is just ignorance.

Emo music turns you emo, which is a fate worse than gay.

The website listed all the Christian and non-swearing bands in the safe category. The gay ones are the ones that descibe stuff as raping, drugs, killing and living it out as a pimp. I think there's a reason for that.

It isn't the music that makes people emo. It's the people playing it that do. Even though a song is about suicide being a good solution to your problems, noone is stupid enough to do a suicide. But if they see the people playing the music trying to do suicides or sticking sharp things through themselvs, they think it's ok. So they try too.

This makes me hate you.

And dont lie, we all know you dream about David constantly. We could show you the naked Dema photo file, and youd still have David prancing in your mind takeing off his unmentionables.

On topic, no, simply no. Music cannot make you gay, and if there were safe and unsafe bands theyve got it all wrong.

Safe: Rap
Not Safe: Pop
Just being general and lazy right there.

For parents, same sex attraction (homosexuality) can be hard to spot until it is too late. The C.H.O.P.S. program helps parents, teachers, ministers and other youth leaders identify and stop the encroachment of homosexuality before it can take root.

Topics include:

    * How to identify homosexuals.
    * What is a sexual predator?
    * What are gay bands?

That website is scary. I clicked in parents section and thats what it gave me. dont let your son look at this Doodan.

I don't believe in the intentions of this "Christian" group, but I wont allow it to sway my opinion. I still have my doubts as to whether this idea can be valid or not.

You see in society today that many children who grow up in gay families tend to be gay themselves. Reason being? Not genetics, not pure coincidence, but influence. Influence is really the only reason we do anything (aside from genetic traits that alter the outcome of influences). Being homosexual isn't a "choice" obviously, but that leads many people to the false impression that homosexuals are just by default, homosexual.

Example:
A man is an athiest, but he wasn't an athiest when he was born. Does that mean he chose to become athiest? No, he simply put information together and it led to him believing that there was no god. You can't choose what you believe in no matter how hard you try. The man may deny his beliefs and pretend to be a Christian, but if you don't believe in god, you are by definition, an athiest.

The idea that homosexuals cannot choose to be homosexual just validates more evidence that if you listen to certain music, you may become gay without your own approval. Sad music can induce sadness, Religious music can induce religion, Angry music can induce defiance. Why can't homosexual music induce homosexuality?
