I'm sorry for you americans.. I think a thing like this (i didnt really read alot about it) is total BS and to have things like this in a country and call it a democracy just don't seem to be logical.. I mean your supposed to be able to think whatever you want but if you read lots of books on a subject the goverment dosn't like they call you a terrorist and arrest you... maybe just that wont happen but it probably could and its not very democratic.

I was just reading about a classified "no-fly" government blacklist for airlines. It's a bunch of names that they suspect as terrorists who get a hard time and invasive security checks at airports. It's easy to get on, though there are no specifics, and nearly impossible to get off. One of our own senators, Ted Kennedy, was suspected because "T. Kennedy" was also on the list as an ALIAS used by a terrorist. Chances are the terrorists aren't dumb enough to fly under their real names. Not mention the newspaper found there's also 52 OTHER Ted Kennedys. Such a load of bull plop.

Yeah, it is VERY scary. The government going around, searching houses randomly, accusing people of being terrorists, raping people's pets-- Ahem. Sorry about that last bit.

Personally, I think of the Patriot Act as a thing of irony. I mean, it's called the Patriot Act, yet it its contents are wholly unpatriotic. It reeks of fascism.

Heh if I owned American Airlines, I would create a black list the other way around...government officials who weren't aloud to fly on my planes. It would rock.

Its called the Patriot Act to not only scare the dimwits into accepting it, but also look at the time it was created. If you weren't patriotic then you would be mauled.

actually come to think of it, that's still true. Apparently my school has started to say the pledge of alliegance every day before school starts. I didn't know that, because I take my fist hour class at a different school usually, so when the annoucement came on I was the only one in the library who didn't stand. Seriously, I didn't know! Anyways, apparently now I'm unpatriotic. It doesn't help that I'm in a very conservative school either...

I love how stupid the airlines are. You want to know how I, personally, could bring all the airlines in America to their knees? Simple: Detonate a bomb before the security checkpoints, right there in an airport. Done. No more flying in America for a year or two. A pervasive, quiet, horrible feeling of terror settling over the nation. Quite a few bankrupt airlines, too. Let's see the Patriot Act protect people from that kind of terror attack. Jesus.

I never thought about that. There are more than one type of terrorists aren't there? I see the mafia rising soon...what a wonderful way to break the US!

Err blowing up an airport isnt what they're afraid of. Its hijacking a plane. Two diffent things.

without an airport the already failing economy would get worse. Or maybe they could go after a college or something. How would the government react to that?

No one would go back to an airport if you bombed one. Plus they'd have to have security at the entrance. But then you could just bomb the parking lot. Terror is an awesome weapon.

I just realized...America employed terror when they made the Patriot Act. That's why they called it the Patriot Act, so that the dimwits who decided on it would think to themselves "I must be unpatriotic if I don't sign to this."

Munich Olympics: THey had like 2000 guards there, but none had any weapons except walky-talkies. Also, at the airplane 5 sninpers+8 terrorist=BAD! They also had no infared vision scopes, although offered them, no kevlar or steel helmets, plus 3 more snipers were back at the plympic village. Plus, the take-over force in the plane abandoned their mission.

Legally, under the Patriot Act, they could come to my house and detain me for an indefinite period of time, and interrogate me any way they wanted (torture, etc.). And our Congress passed this piece of crap?

I can assure you, Shmeeps, that that's the real Nozomu talking. And yes, the Patriot Act allows our government to torture us, just as they tortured Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib. I'm scared now...
