Didn't it get reclassified as like a category 2 today? Or was I just smoking pot?

Yes. They said it went down to a strong Cat2, but once it hits that warm gulf stream of water, it most likely will pick back up to a Cat3 and slam right into Florida.

Well, I'm going to get off the computer now and get ready to leave this house and evacuate... I guess I'll talk to you all after the storm, if I make it that is biggrin.gif

I must say, having experienced Hurricane Charley makes me want to consider moving someplace safer.

Kansas, perhaps.

Sadly, i have nowhere to go and no way to go there, so if Frances hits, i'd say 'm pretty well screwed.

Well, i have to go screw boards on my windows. I'll return if my house doesnt fal down.

ADDITION: By the way, if anybody knows how to cover 2,000 square inches of windows with 1,500 inches of plywood, please let me know

As long as nothing can enter... Don't need to cover up EVERYTHING.

Yea, Frances will probably reach lvl3 tongue.gif. Stupid meteorologists xD.

My grandfather lives in satellite beach, and he's refusing to leave. He lives 7 feet above a canal, and the storm surge is supposed to be upwards of 10 feet in that area. My dad is losing his mind worrying about him.

Should i live the day, I shall return.

Speaking of bad damage, I live in Arlington/Mansfield TX (I live right on the city limits, what are the odds of that?) and we had some bad tornados not all that long ago. We had tapolines out in the street, and a crap load of shingles blown off, and fences knocked down. It was crazy. Well, good luck guys smile.gif

Well I'm back, and I must say that storm wasn't as bad as Charley (as far as wind speed/damage goes)... But it did bring a lot more rain, and it covered up Florida pretty much...

But now I'm a tad bit worried about Hurricane Ivan (Cat4) as it takes the same path as Charley... Only time will tell...

It was more bad than charley for me.I lost my power for one day not that big of a deal but certainly very unconfortable muggy hot situation.More winds here now.Gusts over 60 miles.Around here we only got tree dmg.But still it has't passed. So will see smile.gif.
