Well, maybe not - it's actually more complicated...but there are two basic categories that are split up into many subcategories.
Murder: Premeditated killing of another person.
Manslaughter: Killing of a person without intent/killing in self defence etc.
As far as giving your friend cyanide pills goes... I'm pretty sure that makes you an accessory in his death.

If you kill him, you will be charged for homocide to the second degree. If he wants to die, he can kill himself. (I don't reccomend it) Even if you get rid of the body, the police can find out it was you and find you. For your sake, DON'T KILL HIM.

That is a hard question! It is illegal to kill someone and it is a sin, too, so I don't know if you could kill someone if they wanted to die.
