why cant we just get the abandoned babys and people who want to die from them?

Its like hey! before you die let me take your stem cells! Im sure they aint gonna need it if their dead!

Clonning is like mentioned before....somewhere...but then it has some goods and downs but the good part is if you got cancer on a lung you can clone it back to its healthy state!

I think cloning should be used only for people who are missing body part's such as a arm or sorts. the clone the arm cells from the other arm so to say and then change it to fit the body. Also i think cloning should be used for blood cells. Not alot of people volentere to don8 blood. If we clone billions of blood cells to make blood of every types medical issues will be alot slimmer.

We could also clone the glands that produce insulin, and have an endless, relatively cheap supply. But no, with stem cell research outlawed, diabetics have to suffer from the high cost of their prescription medicine.

now i dont know much about this so by all means correct me if i sound horribly wrong so stem cell reserch can alter babies or am i thinking of something else but anywho if it can i think thats great imagine have a (Perfect) child without any flaws blond hair blue eyes perfect hight smart wise and strong i know i read somewere there is something that can alter these traits

that is pure genetic engineering. (I think about chromosomes)

However stem cell research is a research that will hopefully recover people with spinal damage and diabetes.

I had a project about stem cell research and it made me think. the are three types. one can get stem cells from ambionic fluids after a baby is born. Adult stem cells that can be taken from any adult. and there is embrionic stem cells that kill a fetus and then is extracted. the protestors protest the third option. the scientist are fighting for the third option even though they can use the other two that no one cares about.

My personal opinion is that this is kinda like abortion.
In either cases, I'd actually rather have the baby killed.

In the case of stem cells, the babies never were going to have a life anyway. However, they would be sacrificed to help someone already alive to continue living. The choice is, in other words, leave a man to suffer for a long period of time, draining his family's money, to finally have him die anyway... or ... kill a baby before it's even born.

In the case of abortion, if the babies were left alone, what do you think their life would turn into? Abortions are most useful for teenage pregenancy, where the mothers got the baby by accident and really can't handle the extra responsibilities. The result is that the baby grows up poorly attended, poorly cared for, to grow up to be yet another thug on the street... while the mother, at least remotely possible for a good future, became tied down by her child, unable to continue an education, so that her child would not be taught the value of education either. As you can see, this is almost the same as the results of stem cell ban: because of an UNBORN child, we're leaving the ALREADY BORN people to just go and suffer. Ironic.

We're not cloning to get any cells cuz clonning is morally totally bad.

And someone already mentionned in the thread (or some others) that a cloned being gets old blood cells, not new ones.

Cloning, on the other hand, WOULD be alright. The major problem is that, even though scientists CLAIM they can do it, it's actually trial-and-error. After said cloned baby gets born, he/she is certain to live a life full of sickness and sufferings. Some advocates claim cloning will "bring back dead loved ones"; this is also false, because a while back there was a cloned cat whose COLOR was different from the original.

okay, i'm going to post, and hopefully show people that this is not wrong:

1.) There is nothing wrong with stem cell research.

2.) The only really thing that could be bad is if they do actually try to clone humans. That would be bad.

3.) Stem Cell Research has the potential to do so much good, as long as it doesn't lead to human cloning!

4.) As long as it is only for Stem Cells, research should continue!

I'm fine with stem cell research. I mean, besides aborted fetuses, what would we be using to do it? I mean, it's not like the doctor will yank the baby out, run away with it, and sell it to a stem cell research lab. I agree that cloning people is bad.

I think stem cell research is good that it will help many lives, but its just wrong. I know technology is advancing and everything, but to tinker with lives is not right. When it is your time to die, you should just leave. There are consequences for everything. If you have HIV or AIDS, you obviously made a mistake.

I havent read any of the above, but if scientists used aborted fetus', women would have an abortion and sell the fetus! That is corrupt and shouldnt happen!

BUSH KILLED SUPERMAN

THANKS FOR THE STEM CELLS A$$HOLE!

Lmao... most of us hate Bush, but honestly, the guy died because he was thrown off a horse. Had to die sooner or later, and Reeves actually lived beyond the average years of others like him. Well, the statistics didn't account for richness.
