I had a project about stem cell research and it made me think. the are three types. one can get stem cells from ambionic fluids after a baby is born. Adult stem cells that can be taken from any adult. and there is embrionic stem cells that kill a fetus and then is extracted. the protestors protest the third option. the scientist are fighting for the third option even though they can use the other two that no one cares about.

My personal opinion is that this is kinda like abortion.
In either cases, I'd actually rather have the baby killed.
In the case of stem cells, the babies never were going to have a life anyway. However, they would be sacrificed to help someone already alive to continue living. The choice is, in other words, leave a man to suffer for a long period of time, draining his family's money, to finally have him die anyway... or ... kill a baby before it's even born.
In the case of abortion, if the babies were left alone, what do you think their life would turn into? Abortions are most useful for teenage pregenancy, where the mothers got the baby by accident and really can't handle the extra responsibilities. The result is that the baby grows up poorly attended, poorly cared for, to grow up to be yet another thug on the street... while the mother, at least remotely possible for a good future, became tied down by her child, unable to continue an education, so that her child would not be taught the value of education either. As you can see, this is almost the same as the results of stem cell ban: because of an UNBORN child, we're leaving the ALREADY BORN people to just go and suffer. Ironic.

We're not cloning to get any cells cuz clonning is morally totally bad.
And someone already mentionned in the thread (or some others) that a cloned being gets old blood cells, not new ones.

Cloning, on the other hand, WOULD be alright. The major problem is that, even though scientists CLAIM they can do it, it's actually trial-and-error. After said cloned baby gets born, he/she is certain to live a life full of sickness and sufferings. Some advocates claim cloning will "bring back dead loved ones"; this is also false, because a while back there was a cloned cat whose COLOR was different from the original.
