You are all taking this far too seriously, except Swap, so for you! An unprotector, does it matter that much? You are all in this for the popularity, and just because someone can open your map, doesn't mean everyone will. Say someone unprotects your map, and rigs it, will people prefer that rigged version, or your version? Sure for a while the rig version will get used, but who will they go back to? And the constant redownload of the same file, it won't happen that much!

Clokr, do what you like! You have nothing to stop you from doing this, nor should you if this be what you want to do. All those who are getting angry, deal with it, get over it, and move on.

If you ban him from SEN you will lose an important member of this community, because of what he does in his spare time.

Clokr_ has been banned from staredit network and his account remains in a suspended state. I did not delete him incase he changes his mind.

If Clokr goes through with this and it has the reprocussions I think it does, I may shut down this website or so on.

I now consider myself neutral in any of these Flame wars, i don't disown Clokr for creating this program, because i personally believe in freeware, nor do i credit him for its creation. I treat myself as neutral in all this.

Will i use his completed program, or if he wishes beta it? Yes, on the latter because i like to help a friend complete their work. Use it myself? Why i don't care about other people's maps, maybe now and then to view people's clever use of triggers maybe. But to steal them, not personally, though maybe others will. Thats not my concern.

Coko, you're only seeing this from one side. While it may be true there are a lot more people who want to look at triggers and such from maps, there ARE people who will steal it. Tux himself started locking maps because his maps got stolen. He once was against the idea of locking because he wanted to share. What did he get in return? A stolen map.

I love this - everyone's threatening to quit over an unprotector. Even if my maps got stolen, I would still make them and enjoy myself. I'm not making maps for anyone but myself, really, so if theft is inevitable why throw a fit about it? I hope you'll reconsider, Yoshi, if he does release his monstrosity. Whether or not their maps are protected, the people of this site are the most skilled map-makers in the business - the newb unprotectors will still have to come here for help in the event that they run into any overly complicated and intricately contrived trigger systems, like the ones I hope you all plan on using from now on.

This is :censored:ing redicuilus, this is as bad as someone making a program to easily open up source code for videogames and change them however they want, and just like the developers of those games would be pissed, i'm pissed to, I have the right to protect my map MY map from being stolen by some noob thinking he's God of starcraft. This unprotection is really gettin on my nerves Im on the brink of quiting Starcraft after 6 years of mapping. So you Clokr_

my opinion is and always has been that protecting maps is totally useless. why? people learn mapping from looking at other triggers. if you protect a really neatly done map, people can only guess how it's made, and maps like (u)bolt_head's One Location Bound will raise nothing but mysteries.

besides, most people who want to unprotect your maps are probably trying to fix something.

those who simply change the Credits part of maps are nothing but pathetic idiots, and most people who play maps don't look at the credits anyway.

as for me, i'd actually like having people take my maps and spread 'em around. while changing the Made By to their own sorry ass names, they're still helping to make my maps, which i know I made, available to more people, and it's not like they're making money off it.

So it IS a joke?! I wont download it and test it, because it may be a virus, or something bad. I noticed in his siggy, he was saying that he was the real clokr_ and that only he was the clokr_... Confuzzling...

i was in Clan uUu and i asked Clokr_ y he did it and Salacious said it was a joke to get newbs into dlding it and get viruses to teach them Unprotecting is a no-no. but next time dont do dat it makes me not wonna dl another proedit or program from u lol
