Maybe the ling was meant to be given to player 2(the zerg player in the game)
but they forgot to put in the right trigger to give him the units, then after few seconds the next trigger is remove all units for player 3?

I did testing, and any time you rescue units from afar, it has the ling for a second.

The first 1 is showing that Blizzard must also change player colors because the forge is unpowered next to the pylon, but the otehr 3 are the 3 places a ling appears for rescuing. The alst places you rescue, you don't rescue from afar, so there are not lings. Not a glitch, just Blizz doing something clever I could use in my maps.

I'll have them up very soon.

I was too lazy to resize them, and so I wouldn't mess up the scripts on the page I just posted the links. You see the zerglings in the part in the mid bottom where it shows the wireframes of selected units.

But I still don't get how come when you rescue dragoons the zergling does not appear?

Man just extract the map from INSTALL.EXE using winmpq and check it on staredit...

I did try. I used the extractor opened the install.exe but it did not work.

When you rescue the dragoons, you don't do it from a distance, so it doesn't need the zergling. You can just use your units to rescue them.

You need a listfile since install.exe doesnt store the names of the files. Download it somewhere: www.google.com
Also they are in .chk format, but staredit opens them.

or you can just save time and use UED77's file list, which is located right here.

to use the file list, put it in the same folder as your StarDat.mpq, and when you open WinMPQ press Options > File Lists > choose the file list and press enter.

NEAT! I should try that. A lot faster than playing a map over and over and trying to take quick screenshots. I assume it will then open it with Campaign Editor?, or the editor you set to default?

Lol I had that all along in my MPQ folder. Just never realised what it does. I don't even think i actually opened the read me file.

Did you know it is possible, even without mods, to select a hatchery and some drones at the same time? I will post the picture I have of that later.

Can you tell us how to do that? Do you just tell it to build, then highlight a ton of things, then it'll build and be highlighted still or....?

I've also heard its possible to have Infested Kerrigan and High Templar use Psionic Storm at the same time, but I've never seen anyone say how to do it anywhere.

When this ability is enabled and researched for both units, then they should be able to because both of these units have this ability.

interesting discovery. So the zergling disappeared?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KaboomHahahein on 2004-12-20 at 22:43:30
Umm yes. That's the whole point of it. We were talking about why they need the zergling there but there are good theories so we dropped it. Now I think we are talking about other bugs.

Cool! I think imma go try that..................as soon as i get time...

It happens whenever you rescue units from a distance, which is a good indication that it used for, well, rescuing from a distance. It disapears afterwards because you're not suppose to notice it and it's only used for the rescuing, then not needed. I haven't been fast enough..., but I've been trying to see if they are invincible. I don't have anything to open the campaign maps, and I'm too lazy to look for a good one, so testing works for me, biggrin.gif

It is actually quite slow. And the zerglings have original stats. They are not invincible. Look at the pics I posted in the first post.

Well, my disc drive is messed up, and even though it now works, I don't wanna risk using it until we get a new one. So, I used a laptop for the tests, and I play SC on it, but my laptop doesn't have any sockets that would be fit for the plugs of the mice I have, so I have to use the touchpad, which is hard to do.

I bet it has the lings for other Blizz maps where you rescue from a distance.
