Hey that psiball thing is really easy to do.  Its effects are like a mind placebo, you actually think you are doing something so the mind thinks it too, therefore it creates some way for it to actually think it's doing it and you get the desired effects.

My thoughts exactly. On that site though, it talks about training your subconscious to being able to set an internal alarm clock by telling yourself to wake up at 6 am or whatever. I used to be able to do that... and so did one of my friends. It was coolio.

I practice mind placebo's (mind over matter) alot.  I can trick myself into thinking I'm not hurt, trick myself into thinking its warm (thats how I'm so cold resistant) and I can fall asleep within 20 seconds out of nowhere.

Could you teach me how to do that? (Bolded)

Try these, and see what happens;
1) Tie a washer to the end of a string, and hold the end without the washer between your fingers, and let it dangle, untill it stops moving completly. Now visualise the washer going in a circular motion, and try to make it happen, without moving any part of your body. Do the same thing, but try to make a straight line, instead of a circle. Results?
2) Hold your hand flat out in front of you, with your palm up. Now imagine your hand extreamly hot, and try to make it hot without moving it. Have someone feel the difference between temperatures of your hands. Results?

I have mixed feelings about this.

A lot of it is BS, but there is definitely an unexplainable aura that is inside of us, and sometimes we can utilize this energy outside of our bodies. Some people call it Chi/Qi/Ki, some people call it PSI balls, and some just call it 'energy', but I do think it is very real. I don't know about this whole 'programming your psi ball' thing...

That seems awful bsish to me. As for moving things, that is very possible. Me and my friend played a game he learned in Korea where you move a lightweight object like a napkin with your chi.

But I'm reluctant to believe this visible PSI ball thing or that PSI balls can change people's thoughts.

I waiting for someone to post the Randi link =P

About the psionics=satanic thing, I don't think the nature of it is evil... Unless your doing crazy witchcraft stuff that involves chanting some dark spell to summon some sort of demon (I don't think believe in that crazy stuff, btw).

Anyway, recently (a few months ago), I found a psychic community, and decideded to make an account to check it out (This one, if your wondering). After reading the articles there, and hanging around in the chat, I found out it's not all that crazy. The members of the community were pretty sane (relatively), and the articles were logical (as far as phychic abilities articles go, anyway).

So, I decided 'What the heck', and tested some of this stuff out. I "successfully" made a psiball (a ball made of psychic energy), meaning I cound feel tingling, warmth, and sometimes a magnetic push/pull where I moved the ball. I also could "program" the ball, making it hot or cold. I didn't suceed in telekinesis, but I did have some telepathy experiences (random ones). Also, I have had a few lucid dreams (dreams where you know you are dreaming), and have come close to having an out of body experience (insanely unbelievable experiences where it seems your spirit floats out of your body).

What does this prove? Not much, it wouldn't prove anything in a lab test. I just did this to see if it was actually possible, and it proved somewhat to me that it is.

I believe in them.
Specificely, what I've experienced is limited and I don't want to talk about it, since I might exagerate/misremember some of it, but I have experienced things that could very well be
A) psionics
B) similar, such as Ghosts etc
C) sheer, blind, really extremely censored.gif ing high luck

Anyone tried any of the experiments I posted above?
When I did the one with the washer, it worked, fairly well. I couldn't make a triangle.
The hot hand worked about as expected; slightly warmer than the other hand.
The human brain is extreamly powerful, almost too much so.

Can you disprove something based only on the fact that no one can prove it themselves?

To believe in something because it hasn't been debunked is not the same proposition as believing in something because it has been proven. However, if that's your line of reasoning, many absurdities will await you.

No one has ever disproven the existence of leprechauns, so it must be folley not to follow the end of a rainbow for a chance at a pot of gold (and maybe some lucky charms cereal).

No one has ever falsified the existence of garden demons, so don't go outside at night, just in case.

No one has ever falsified the fact that if you get up to go to the bathroom at a time divisible by three, your intestines will combust and your feces will animate. So be cautious not to get up to go to the restroom at the wrong time.

However, if your like me and instead take the stance, false until shown otherwise, you will never fall into believing something that isn't true.

I believe it is all just your brain either controlling things, like changing your metabolic rate for heat (I can do that, I won't get cold in freezing weather for about 20 minutes, except for my head, grr, lol), or illusions created by your brain. I can make it feel like my temperature is changing and I'm getting sick and throw up, but my temperature has just risen a bit from vomitting.

I tried the psiball thing and nothing happened. Anyways, i haven't had any psionic happen. I've heard voices sometimes, I researched it and it was a psychological response and fairly normal. i do not believe in psionics because it doesn't make snse to me that you magically draw power from the Earth or Sun by certain chemicals aligning in your brain which it interprests as imagining sucking in energy. Those are my thougts. i don't believe in psionics, but i will continue trying for the heck of it. biggrin.gif

Good points. And yes, you won't believe in anything that isn't true if you take that stance. If that's the way you like to do things, awesome.

For me, I prefer to research things myself, and then decide on whether or not to believe in them.
