Your cursor probably wouldn't be in the textbox anymore if it refreshed...
Yet, I don't understand why it would jump back. The shoutbox settings are only for the master shoutbox ("View the Shoutbox") and not for the global one.
I'll add an option to change the global to a non iframe as well as the option to disable refreshing.

Are you using overflow:auto isolatedpurity? I'm pretty sure you are from what I see. If so, there is nothing more you can do to stop the horizontal scrollbar from appearing. The attributes overflow-x and overflow-y are not W3C supported.

Trust me, I stopped it (except for the random noob who thinks it's funny to string characters together without spaces... which I could ALSO stop but would rather just ban from the shoutbox)
What happens is Yoshi rebuilds the ibforums cache and it overwrites my changes...
I'm working on a solution that'll please both of us though.

Alrighty, I've added some of my old code back into the shoutbox.
You can switch between styles (New and Old) via the shoutbox control panel instead of board perferences from now on.

You can also turn off automatic refreshing...
And if you don't like iframes, you can switch the global shoutbox to regular (what we used to use prior to this version) if you wish, however, it doesn't refresh ANYTHING when you shout, which, would be annoying either way I'm sure.
I also made it more beautiful... If you visited the settings page before I updated it today, you would know how fugly it was.
