Just a note...
I'm going to be releasing this map a day early to everyone in the mIRC channel. So if you really are anxious to play this, I suggest getting mIRC and idling as much as you can
Here's the info for getting yourself onto the mIRC Channel:

Beta Testers will be getting it a day early as well. To turn off the transmission sound just type /soundoff.
I'd like to make it clear that I am not promising the due date of the 25th... Could be more... Could be less... We'll have to see.
man.. this is a 50/50 project. i DO post here just noone ever directs any questions at me. plz acknowledge me too. killer is the man but i put my @$$ into this map too. i am not a pro pro trigger man like killer but i am getting better he is teaching me and i bust my butt on terrain and try to make good worlds when i work on maps
Hash, tell them your plans for the terrain on Part 1b, like the Shinra HQ and stuff.
P.S. Get back on bnet foo.
Calm down, we are not all singing Killer's praise its just that he answers any questions directed to the "Maps" as a whole, rather than yourself, and also i didn't know he was doing this map with other people till just now.
hash is stressed :/
Yeah hash made the awusm3 fa'shizz terrian
Which isn't easy to do, You try recreating parts of the game into terrian. How hash made the terrian actully looks a lot like the real thing... well all the parts I've seen.
Hash mainly people do direct things to you because you basically only made terrian, although I'm sure you talk to killer about the map a bunch of times and add suggestions you really are not the one who is doing the triggers and makign certain things happen. Like "OGM HW WLL T3H GLDEN SUCR GMES WRK!!!11oennoe?"
That's something Killer MIGHT know. (Which by the way is a good question when you guys get to that point of the game)
So don't feel left out
I haven't forgotten you
PS: Red Sox won
Nah i'm just kidding :/
Ok guys, I need some serious feedback here...
Hash and I just realized since we had to split Part 1 into two separate parts, Player 3 in Part 1a only gets to play in the Sector 5 Reactor. It takes about halfway through the game just to get to Player 3, then Player 3 plays for the one dungeon, and then that's it....
So now here comes the decision, should I make it a two player map and have Tifa as a computer player, or make it so that after Player 3 is done he/she will just be able to observe the rest of the game?
Most of Player 3's involvement is in Part 1b which I failed to realize until now... So help us out here...
Most people would jsut leave... Mabe you could have them play as a moogle or sumthing while they wiat
Part 1 will be 2 Player, while Part 2 will be three player, a much better idea, because no one likes to watch a damn RPG, they want to be in the thick of it.
Ok well then it's settled. Part 1a will be a two player map, Player 2 being able to switch between Barret or Tifa once Tifa becomes available. And yes they have different upgrades but I'll make Tifa strong enough so that she isn't horribly weak if Player 2 decides to swap out Barret for Tifa. And you'll only be able to switch out at the [Save Point] beacons which are scattered throughout the map.
Once you get to the part where Cloud falls from the reactor, Player 2 will then be Aeris for the remainder of the map and will not be able to switch out.
So basically, Player 1 must be Cloud the whole map, and Player 2 will get the ability to use the other character's features.... If you like staying as one unit the whole game then Player 1 is for you, if you like using other characters and exploring new tactics then you'll want to be Player 2. See... now everyone's happy
You going to have trigger to enable continuation if one player leaves or require 2?
I have the triggers setup so that it'll work just as long as Player 1 is present. So basically it can either be played alone as Player 1, or both players can play. Player 2 leaving the game will not effect anything at all and from then on out it'll just run through as if it were started as 1 player.
Killer just try to think of this next time you split the maps :/
Hm, I am so antsy to see this, I hope that KiLLeR can backup this hype with some suprises [MOVE]
[/MOVE]
I wanna make a few things clear. One of the main reasons why this map is so long is because of all the dialog. You're prolly going to be spending more time reading dialog and viewing flashbacks then actually battling enemies... But don't get me wrong there's a lot of battling and cool boss fights as well. Along with the magic, item and limit break systems.
I just don't want people to think it's gonna be all battling and minimal text... If you hate reading then there's no way you'll like this map for a second... So if you want to randomly battle things for 3+ hours then play my other FF7 maps in the DLDB.
The best games have a good story behind them
That's why Madness sx0rs
KiLLeR, that sounds tight man. I'm all for the dialog & cinematics, they both contribute to a good map. Have you made a new battle system & if so shown it to the public at all?
Yes he has. It was on his demo for the game.
errr... y doesn't anything happen when u go to mako reactor?
It's only a demo. That's how far the demo goes.
Demo's are annoying versions, like beta's incomplete and waiting to be insulted.
