I like your waterfall, I was trying to make one in a map i was working on a while back but I couldn't figure out the terrain taht made it look best.

I am not making this map for Fame. Unlike some other people that make maps. I am making it to prove to myself that I am capable of following through with a big project. I am also interested in putting a piece of my life into something that could outlast me.

As for one player issue's. Even if I made it 2 player's, people still wouldn't want to wait for - hours to download via B.net. I know I sure as hell wouldn't. I have a feeling the map will be a pretty damn big file seize. So, that means that it won't be your average - minute b.net map. This is solo for a reason. To be able to go very indepth to the story, and the character's. As far as I know, there haven't been any RPG's in SC that will go in depth as this one will. My goal for this map is to make people fel the hate, love, happy, and sad. If I am able to make people get those sort of feelings, then I will be happy.

You just cannot do those sort of things with a multiplayer map. Especially with the restrictions that StarCraft has. Now, if this was a WarCraft III production (Thank God it's not), I wouldn't worry about limits. But, that is not the case.

Yeah just think if StarCraft had the limits as WarCraft III but with starcraft editors still being able to be used, most of the maps would be outstanding, and lot's more people would probably play starcraft. biggrin.gif

But yeah about your map being single player I would have to agree with you on that Forsaken, mainly because you can have more strings and you won't have to do 4 seperate sets of triggering for each player. biggrin.gif Good luck with this still Forsaken, and can't wait for you to get this done. w00t.gif Go Forsaken!

with starcraft limitations, if you can pull off something awesome, you got some skill. which makes it more better. and yes, i agree, more people would play sc. too bad they dont

I think I may be using a piece of music that fwop gave me.

I am looking for theme's that have the same sound as the music in Legacy of Haen. If it's like that, then I want it. But, I do not want the same piece that was in Legacy of Haen. Just something similar to that.

Good choice of music, Haean was also one of my favorites in the RPG category. Along with F&D, New Avalon II, and Eye Of The Beholder. Those are definetly things to take a look at for some ideas and some inspiration. Keep up the good work. You might be getting some fierce competition some day soon.

I am happy. I found a website that hosts the exact music files I've been looking for. (Since the end of May).... Anyways, it'll take me a couple days to download all of them. I have a 56k connection. So that doesn't help any...

All this talk about music forsaken your map better have the best of the best of it ^_^!!

Cuz your getting me really excited. I love rpg music or.. Game music i have about 100-200 wavs from FF and alot of halo!! ^_^!! So add some FF songs in there to because FF has the best rpg music in the world!!

Updates:


• 27 Spells Named and catergorized.
- 9 Spells for each character. You gain 3 for each level up.
• 9 Options when Roaming the world.
- From use an item to minigames.
• 9 Turn Based Options added.
- From healing to steal an item.
• 9 Shop Options
- 8 Items to purchase, and one option to talk with the clerk.

More coming.


P.S. I still need to start the triggering for use of the spells in the TBC battles. tongue.gif Soon enough I'll post a Strategy Guide for when fighting unit's in the TBC battle's. Trust me on this, you will need it. Because the enemy will have a specific magic type. (Water, Fire, Earth, Lightning, or Dark). If you would like to successfully defeat them in battle, you will need to know their weaknesses. Rule of thumb, you'll want to know the Guide from front to back.

How many level ups are there? 3 spells gain each level seems a bit too much and probably be less apreciated

Well, just because you get new spells doesn't mean your going to be able to afford to use them all back to back. Which is what brings the strategic part to the Turn Based Battles. You'll have to be smart about what and when you attack, heal, cast a spell, or use an item. Etc...

.. Spell idea make the person do more damage or what ever with each lvl they gain on spells.. Cuz i have played some rpgs and the spells always do the same or wat eva... so make it add like 1-3 damage every 1-5 lvls or somthing! that would be awsome.

well, you cant change the damage of it, just make the duratio of the spell doing dmg loger

Wel, here is how I am doing the spells:


Level One:

There will be let's say... 25 Drone's placed under the enemy.

Then, I will have the player attack, cast spell, use item etc...

I will randomise the correct switche's.

Then, once the switches are at there positions. A random amout of drone's will be killed.

Once there are no more drone's, you have defeated the unit.

Level Two:

Simply, you kill more drone's.




My Turn Based Battle System is actually very easy to trigger. The only hard part, more or less... Is making the spells look cool... mellow.gif

Screw maken them look awsome.. For like spells that effect you like cure or wat ever use a holo scorge and kill it... on a location over you... and for the other spells you can be a lil creative..

Well, the spells are just like explosions. bleh.gif I am just making different patterns over a 16 location grid. The locations are 4x4. I have Artemis' diagram's drawn out. I just need to start the triggering for it.


There may be a brief break on my map soon. School is really starting to pick up for me, so I am unable to work on the map as much. Instead of 3-4 hours a day, it's going to be like 1 1/2-2 houes tops, on a good day.

Anyway, not sure how much longer it's going to take for the demo, but it should be released soon.

dang you still are worken on it alot... My time on my maps are like 1 2 1/2 mins lol... School .. and freinds are my top priorty.. not no starcraft. Well mby it goes above school but not friends n stuff!
