Don't be so strict.

The original purpose of the contest was obviously to bring back old school maps without square terrains, cloaked beacons, and the like, not to result in disqualified maps simply because the judges have given mixed messages in the rules.

If the purpose was to restore "Old School Maps", you should ban hypertriggers and colors as I had suggested earlier.

Ok, Syphon, can we post some hints for normal StarEdit to help people?

E.g.

Using the Left, Right, Up and Down arrows on the keyboard, you can move the map exactly 32 pixels in the corresponding direction.

With this knowledge, I have placed units in StarEdit that are right on the intersection of gridlines, which is useful for a randomization of lair placements I utilized. No need for Snap to Grid on SF!

I highly encourage it.

Many trigger systems invented in higher editors can be adapted.

It's not a trigger system, it's just how the campaign editor moves.

Some people seem to be not getting the message.
<If it can be done in campaign editor, you can do it>
<with the exception of coloured text>

So, yes you can do hyper triggers because it's not hard to do wait(0); in campaign edit.

I personally think the campaign editor is underrated.

Oh wait, never mind.

We have cliches for everything!

People don't seem to get my point... People didn't always know hypertriggers existed. In fact, I made the majority of my maps before hypertriggers were discovered.

Also:

A few of force colors are used in the game type "Team Melee". You probably just never noticed them before.

That's it, kenoli is out of this content.

Don't be so strict? I asked for alt code and got nothing. So there are non or he doesn't know it. That means that he has used 3rd party editor/program for overlaps. And probably to make the whole map. Violation of the main and only rule. Hes out.

That is not even close to any our message. Our message is to actually make map on staredit, not to pretend doing so.

It was when kenoli asked syphon himself. This is before the insane confusion about colours and overlaps, and way before syphon left you in charge, or you being a judge in fact.

Why, do you keep talking about alt codes. This is NOT about alt codes. READ my post.

The point of that post is that you CAN do hyper triggers.

That's the same thing!

He asked syphon to use colours and lap tabs. How hard is that for you to understand? It's not hard to copy/paste a tab from colour palette onto your campaign editor.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Gigins on 2005-10-18 at 15:41:08
Color palette is 3rd party program! Colors were allowed because of the many "colors can be created with alt codes". I don't see alt codes for overlaps, so they are not allowed.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Sniper on 2005-10-18 at 15:53:36
Syphon made an exception to them before people started complaining.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Gigins on 2005-10-18 at 16:00:58
Colors are not overlaps. Let him self explain. While he won't he will be disqualified.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Syphon on 2005-10-18 at 16:20:00
If he can't explain the alt codes for laps I'll disqualify him.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Sniper on 2005-10-18 at 16:21:21
You won't even give him a chance to remove the laps?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by LegacyWeapon on 2005-10-18 at 16:21:56
Stop talking. Any and all text possible has alt codes. When viewed with the proper Character Encoding, people can see different languages. Colors is just alt codes 0 - 8 or something and then overlaps are 11 and 12.

he probably just opened up a map with laps and copy + pasted them on his own map and change the names....
thats not using alt codes and not using any other program either...
so that should be perfectly alowed...
