Use KaZaA-Lite not KaZaA, it's spyware free (unless you install something, which is idiotic to begin with) and virus free, and it comes with many features like "butting" people out of "line" or getting someone else's bandwidth before they do. Plus you get access to the largest P2P network in existence. Built in IP-blocker keeps you safe from anyone that might be watching, and you can make it so people cannot access your files via username, only with searches. I've gotten many 250k+/sec downloads on there, and I just heard that Comcast is updating the bandwidth even more (current speed is 3mb/sec). The fastest I've ever downloaded something is 450k/sec.

With SoulSeek I've got the same features. And dl'ed around 30 *.mp3 with a crappy bandwidth in my 1st day with it. To me it and Shareaza (that can pull the same) are the best P2P free progs that I've seen 'round the Net. happy.gif

Please link us to Kazaa-Lite for us to avaluate for ourselves. wink.gif
(Along with it's no spy/addware claim you stated. w00t.gif )

use Norton 05, Stinger,Spysweeper,spybot,cw_shredder,hijacker for the most part.
If I don't have the ability to delete the file the normal way I start in safe mode w/command prompt.
Usually that gets them for the mostpart.

To me having to Anti-Virus apps is a NO NO. They usually tend to clash with each other.
And I prefer myself McAfee 'cause that way I don't have to buy a new updating CD every year. tongue.gif

Get Ad-Aware SE Personal since sometimes SpyBot doesn't detect all spy/addware that it's inside your PC. Thus, my previous comment on the combo trick. happy.gif
And use CWS Shredder when you're already sure that your system is infected and other sweeps don't do the trick (when it still acts weird aka showing pop-ups and related crap to missleads your searches with engines like Google).

The Hijacker bit I don't really know about. Can you please link us to it? Tks. wink.gif

And in most cases, the virus end up in the void where deleted data goes yahoo.gif

I don't like mcafee. I scanned my floppy disk that I knew had 4 virus on it. Mcafee had the latest up to date virus definitions - and the viruses were more than 6 months old. Mcafee didn't detect them - while norton did!

Besides, the last time I bought a new subscription to get updated virus definitions from norton was 4 years ago. I figured out that all I have to do to get a "new" subscription is to uninstall norton and then reinstall it. I can't do THAT with mcafee. smile.gif
