I think that video game violence is underobserved. If a parent sees a game that they dont like, they should reject it. I dont think that if parents knew what they were buying their kids that they would allow that. I also think that there is a sex factor in this. If there is violence, than i dont think that it is as much of a problem as sex. If a game, like grand auto theift, has sex and violence then it should not be allowed in parents's homes that know their kid is not capable of being realistic about it. Im thinking that the kids need to think for themselves on this matter. If a kid is gonna buy a game that is completely inappropriate, than they should not buy the game.

I feel that brutality is uncalled for, but vilence adds an aspect to games that makes them more interesting and playable. Like halo, it has violence, unlike the suffering which has just uncalled for amounts of brutallity and wickedness in my opinion.

Sorry if this has been said before but I don't feel like sifting through 2 pages of mostly dull responses.

I think that it is up to parents to decide when enough is enough. Before child plays video games, especially those of an obviously violent nature parents should teach their kids what is morally correct. If a kid has a good head on his or her shoulders I'm not worried about them becoming a corrupt citizen. If a parent fails to teach their kid what is right, and what is wrong (via responding immoral actions with displeasure and morally correct actions with pleasure) then they need to hold off on the video games. If they've failed to do this by the time they are in high school they are terrible parents.

When you think about it, StarCraft is a pretty violent game. Marines shatter and blood spills, firebats burst into flames, and wave after wave of expendable "life" (at least to the game) is killed. No one who plays StarCraft honestly takes any heed to it, maybe because it's not very detailed, maybe because we've grown ignorant of it.

Basically, the way I see it is, if your muture enough to know it's not cool for people to die in real life you shouldn't worry about a video game changing that. However, if you don't yet have an opinion on people in real life dying than you should get your morals together and learn, which is something only your family has a chance to do.

Thanks for reading,

I am against the plays of violence where that one is human who massacres of other human but the other kind of video games violate does not disturb me for example Halo one must massacre the extraterrestrial one, this plays should give me desire for taking a rifle and for killing out of the worlds? in more the plays is so realistic that sometimes I hesitate one can kill Grunts (just a little biggrin.gif ). In any event the old plays in 2dimension was as violent it is right as graphics was not enough good to disgust certain person.

PS: strange that such a discussion is places in a forum of starcraft happy.gif

Video game violence corrupting people's minds? Please. I play Diablo II, and I don't have an urge to pick up a sword and start hacking and slashing people that I perceive to be demons. I play Halo, and I don't have an urge to pick up an assault weapon and start hunting for imaginary Covenants and Flood.

It's not the children's fault. It's the parents' fault for letting their kids get their hands on violent video games. This point may or may not have been repeated over and over again in the past few pages of posts, but I'm just stating it here to drill it into your minds even further.

Violence in the video games is present bus it is what is in request people want more of the plays more and more gore of it. they are not bad but it is necessary to make a difference between virtual reality if not it is the madness and the person become accro believes her world different from reality and absorbs itself there always more without being concerned with its entourage.

ADDITION:
and a day he will not want to see the réaliter in faqce any more and will commit suicide while esperant to be integrated in his plays

ADDITION:
realty in face*
