Theirs been a few good's and bad things about video game violence. They teach the minds of kids that killing is good. That violence of murder, killing, and teaching them how to handle such guns so well in life. Their are the good violence and the bad violence,
how do you see Video Game Violence as?
I'm apathetic when it comes to video game violence. I think its fine the way it is, just dont get any worse
but neways, should this be in General Gaming Forum? Cuz it is talking about games right?
I don't think anyone who is mature and has a "un-corrupted" mind will think that the violence in video games is ok to do. If it was a little kid who did not understand much, I will agree that they might think it is ok to kill people and things like that. However older people who don't have any mental problems will not think that it is ok to do violent things like in their video games.

But lots of immature kids would play it so much it would "corrupt" their minds. They'd think it's cool to Blow people up and see blood disperse everywhere.
the only thing i dont like about video game violence is that parents wont shut up about it, its not the video game's fault that the parents neglect the ESRB rating on it, because they

up as parents, doesnt mean they can blame the games
My two cents
Video games that are violent are intended to be played by older people who understand that it is not real and should not be recreated.
Some games though DO go way over board, I saw this game on the news in which yoou assassinate JFK over and over and over and you get scored on accuracy, bullets used, etc.
Finally I think that politicians' views on games such as Mortal Combat and Grand Theft Auto are stuid. Sure they ARE violent, but games aren't the cause of violence. Violence has been around since the world was created, NOT when video games were made. Politicians just use games as an easy excuse toward the growing violence when they SHOULD be concerned with things such as racism, lynchings, etc.
Pss... Can I have some CON ppl debating this! or it will just go dead soon.
This is for school, and I'm on the CON side, and I need info and research. These are great points so I thank you!
I am far more worried about the violence in films than the violence in video games.
Ok, video game violence has appropriate ratings. Notice the T for teens over 13 who are mature enough to handle video game violence. If parents think that their child is not mature enough, then they should not allow those game to be played by that person.
Some parents, don't really care about what it has or whats it about long as the child is happy to get it. Their are parents who are like a control freak over their kids life and moniters like everything he/she dose. Of corse it won't let their kids get them untill their old or matured enough, that would just suck though.

Ok then,
I think that violence in video games is a good thing, becuase instead of people going out and killing people in real life, they can murder a virtual person within a video game to relieve thier anger. Plus who doesn't like shooting someone up? Video games make this possible.I watched this one thing on TV where they had a top 10 list of the most controversial games. I 4get what all of them were but here's some i can remember:
DoA Extreme Beach Volleyball was #7
Doom was #6 or 5
Mortal COmbat was #3 or something
Grand Theft Auto was #1
Oh, did you watch that on G4TechTV?
I think a controversial game is the Playboy game where you play as Hugh Hefner.
Ah, now i remember. Yes i did watch it there.
Yea that game is also pretty controversial.
lol video games will never go away so i dont really think we should worry about it. No one can prove that kids are going to go out and kill because they thought it was cool in a game they played. Like some one else saiid. Movies are more realistic and people should probly be more concerned about them! But i bet that things will stay the same except maybe more rating and stuff.
But with games, you actually control the actions. It's really "you" which does all the violent things and all that. Whereas movies, you only watch ppl do that stuff.
So yes both could affect a child's mind, but games do more i think. And since the graphics are getting better now, they're going to look more and more realistic
that is true how the graphics are getting so so so so so good.. its almost real!
I wonder how "better" it would be in the future...
Just like back in the old days, like the movie "God father" or something, people thought "one gunshot" was HUGE action. We'd deride those old films now because of their "low status" compared to our new computer animated films (eg: LotR).
And here's a weird thought: Once we have kids, they'll also laugh at how "inferior" our today's hit movies are (like LotR and all those computer animations).
probly have a virtual reality thingy were its lke your in the movie probly in the future !! O_o
Actully. The US Army is using Video Games to at least help them with training. They use games like Socom, Navy Seals, Socom 2, Rainbow 6. All those types of games to help teach them teamwork, they'll be playing them on multplayer so they can learn what teamwork is all about. But, they also use other kinds of training for teamwork too. Trying searching some stuff about Video Games being used by the Miltary.

Ya, I know thats kinda cool! You can play with the real soldiers in those games and try to beat the

out of them online!
The games in the near future are evolving very quickly and violence his heading alone with it. The violence and corruption in the world around is changing the way we live and what we have fear and hope for in our life.

They should use Metal Gear Solid. It's so much more about stealth and not run in and kill while get shot 50,000 times! Metal Gear Solid 3 should get M rating, but it's killing for a reason. I think games like GTA: San Andreas is kinda going overboard, same with Mortal Kombat (spelled with a "K") cuz they are like blood with one punch!
They should have better ratings that actually aprove to ppl buying it
this is y we have a rating system for those games. but on my opinion some little kid who plays M rated games will sometime coorupt he/she's mind because their minds thinks it won't hurt them and trys to reanact from voilence games. and figure what's real life about like military based games
