But seriously, I'm Catholic, and such a thing is a sin in our eyes; that doesn't mean we don't do it, because part of being Catholic is that the church makes sure you always feel riddled with guilt.

Great. So how far is too far in the church's eyes?

In Catholicism, you can do absoluetely anything as long as you repent in confession. That's right, if you kill someone and feel bad about it, you're automatically forgiven.

I quiz my roommate on this stuff all the time.

So no matter what, you're forgiven. I believe I would know that, noz tongue.gif

but what I want to know is how far do you get before you go to confession

You can't be forgiven if you don't confess.

Nozomu...that's not what I'm asking.
I'm asking for an answer from a catholic.

How far do I go with what? huh.gif

I don't go to confession much anyway, but as far as pre-maritals go, i don't believe in anything past second base before marriage.

And for your information, they still frown on it even if they do go to confession right after, our priest may even refuse to give you a confessional right away, but then again, our priest is kinda a dink.

We're all animals, animals do it, they dont get married, so I say hey, go for it before marrige. Its just sex anyway, I feel it doesnt really have any meaning untill you make love to your significant other, so untill you find that person its just human nature tongue.gif

Many people feel that way, but thats where I differ from them.

I respect their opinion, but I (along with others) will try to stay vigilent over our cause.

We don't think it's "just sex" and many Christians who oppose pre-maritals point out that our churchs teach us that we are more than just animals, we are better and special compared to our primal friends.

That is from a more religious point of veiw.

Ugh... yes we are, here are some examples why:

We breathe, in order to stay alive and control our body, rocks can't.
We have a mind, that can procces information into electrical signals and by that cause our body to do things, rocks can't.
We grow up and change by time, rocks don't.

I'll stop here because it's getting off-topic...

He's saying that there's no difference between living and unliving matter - it's all atoms and molecules and crap like that. So having sex before marriage really doesn't matter on a molecular or atomic level.

Honestly, what makes us better then animals? Our belief that we are, of course! Humans are one of the least efficent animals, but we can shape the environment. Big deal. Most humans are stupid anyways, simply using other people's innovations instead of coming up with their own. morality is a creation of mankind. Without this great brain of ours, we'd be so much happier. Marriagge, from what I've heard, is horrible. Honestly, spending ALL your time with one person? Sure, there might be some people you really really like, but would you want to spend eternity with them? Oh, by the way, if large amounts of animal species are entirely unfaithful but just acting on their nature, are they sinful? No, just animals. Hey buddy, here's a hint: Humans are animals.

Sorry to here you feel that way, but as I stated before, without anger...

"Many people feel that way, but thats where I differ from them"

You believe what you want, I believe what I want.
