Ok, well in Star Trek (I'm not a fan, but it's a good example) They had a hologram room, which would display places, such as being inside a cafe or in the jungle. It wasn't real, but entirely believable, holographic environments.
They coined the room the holodeck.

Do you mean like something in Legacy's Uberation?

If so... It's a thing installed in something so it can autoupdate, Instead of you going and downloading evrey version of it.

I tested this not to long ago, besides the fact P2 didn't work sad.gif it was great. Like every real game should be. If none of us had never seen loony defense or mindless shooters or the darkswarm firing system; this would be the greatest game ever known to SC. like guantlent legends it's got spawns.

The version you saw was an older one, but it had all the same stuff up to the point I left off (at least, multiplayer-wise). I was in bad need of testing with multiplayer at that time, too.

But seriously, at least we get to see even a tiny glimpse of A&O. Will the crystal area from the trailer happen to be in this? That was a nice peaceful area. Also, is there any way to lower the graphics on 2-player boss battles? I remember when I had the honor of testing, but we "lavished in the luxury of lag" during the first boss battle.

Would you be able to separte the boss battles into two separate categories, 1-player high-quality (hyper) and 2-play low-quality (no hyper)?

Removing hypers would completely destroy the game, And it owuld have late firing effects and everything, though it's a nice idea.

No, I plan to make P2 an unlockable thing by beating the game, so this will be almost exclusively singleplayer (except to people who've already got to see it otherwise).

And Kirbycode, just so you know what you saw was an older version. The newest one is almost 60% different, not including some 4 new areas added.

If you mean about not finishing A&O (aka THO), then realize when I said I was cancelling the project for Starcraft I never implied I wouldn't make it in another form. I've done too much work drafting the story and gameplay to just give it up altogether. wink.gif

There isn't one, i don't think. Tux is being nice enough to allow us to test. When he needs it. You just gotta be in the right place at the right time.

Weird. Yeah I was wondering about that. I noticed my old text sig looked different in FF vs. IE (FF didn't show the hex colored text).

As for testing, yeah I pretty much just grab people based on whose online when I am... which isn't often. I'd rather people see the map in its finished form rather than in bits and pieces before then.

Hmm, maybe if I could predict when I can get on bnet I'd let people test (first come first served). This map isn't really ment for multiplayer though, as I sort of made it that way out of frustration with P2's bomber system. As I said, in the final version, it'll be an unlockable once you beat the game. I want people to see it the way I intended before they go and lag it up and/or lose all their hair from with the clumsy P2 movement/firing system.

how about poor people who live in 17 hours ahead of America, so that it is practically impossible for them to get online at the same time? (exaggeration but, it will still be hard)

I think it's pretty neat that you're putting this much effort into a map that can also be played in single-player mode! I think I've experienced your gunner system. Man, I feel bad for not actually being able to comment more on it.

That's not completely true. Maps existed BEFORE the hyper trig, if you can remember that far back. Also, I meant a switch that turned off hyper trigs right before the boss battle. Yes, I do understand that dark swarms could not be fired as repetitvely, but then again, it IS low quality (2p) remember?

No no no, I was implying from what I remember when you brought out the A&O forum. I remember in your first post you boldly pointed out that A&O was NOT going to be a "Trigger Happy Offense", contrary to the rumors. I'm just slightly snickering to myself about Rush being Trigger Happy Offense, knowing that it was A&O alpha. wink.gif

Why not try doing it on RPG Maker? Too limited?

In the trailer, there comes out like thousands of marines, Defilers, ghosts, a whole swarm of zerglings, and a few high templars. Which one do you control if you get it finished?

The defilers, which can morph into other units, if I'm not mistaken. (An assumption based upon the trailer's effects.)

No the dts were like a cloak, or turn "invisible", but I don't think you could move while you were a dt. Oh well.

So i think burrow, or morph to lurker would activate hide... Then once you move teh DT you go back... that would make an awsome thieves game.. And you hide better in shadows, or you get more skill everytime you hide.
