I don't think he's taking into account the fact that people breed exponetially, and that every asshole in America has to have an SUV (no, not every American's an asshole, but the ones who drive Hummers to the convienence store are). If we're still using fossil fuels for that long, the sky will be black. It's time to smarten up and invest more in new technology. If America wanted they could be a decade ahead of the rest of the world in technology (too bad you're paranoid about being attacked, so you dump billions into the war machine).

Kerry isn't that bad. At least not from what I've seen him say. He want's a better health care system, and Bush replied to that with the dumbest argument I've ever heard. Last I checked, Canada had free health care and it's pretty damn good. I don't know what the excavation meathods for fuel are in Alaska, but if they're anything unusual they'll be just as expensive as shipping overseas.

Wes, the reason we (well, not us StarCraft players, but everyone) need to talk about a new source of fuel, is because Oil isn't exactly safe. Go to a densly populated city, then go to a suburb, huge diffrence in air pollution, not to mention that it'll only get worse as we use more and more. Why do you think we have buses? Not simply for people who can't drive or don't have a car, it cuts down tremendously on traffic, and as it happens, our use of fuel (unless there's like one kid on the bus, but that never happens where I live).

The fact of the matter is, we live in a pretty scary world. The way we've torn through ecosystems is hurting us, and yet it's hard not to because we're expanding in numbers. We have to force unallied countries into fear so they won't attack us, and in concequence develop terribly scary weapons. It isn't uncommon for people to think the human race will die to pollution, and that it isn't far off if something isn't done about it.

Sorry about the rant, just... common man, oil isn't as safe as you think.

I don't live in the United States, so don't know much about the presidental election. But Kerry was good, he, indeed, wanted a better health care system, which would be good for you Americans. Its true, us Canadians have a free health care system. The government pays each time we go to our doctor, but we still have to pay for medicine and getting X-rays.

Fossil fuels are a source of energy, but each time we use it, its runing out environment. If America wanted to, and Bush wasn't an asshole, you guys would be ahead of the world, except maybe for Japan, in technology. Also, America is quite crowdy. More people, more gas used up.

I've noticed how the gas prices have gone up so much over the past few years, there are 3 gas stations on a main road, and over the past few years they have gone from prices under a dollar to now up to 2 dollars.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by hynk on 2005-06-12 at 15:41:40
Wow! You Americans are up to 2 dollars per litre? or per gallon? In Canada, were not even over 1 dollar per litre yet. Highest I've seen is 97 cents per litre.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MapUnprotector on 2005-06-12 at 15:50:36
per gallon.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MillenniumArmy on 2005-06-12 at 16:48:04
Yea, 2 dolloars per liter would be insanely ridiculous. But I guess that would be pretty cheap for places like Beverly Hills wink.gif

I haven't seen any Presidents elected that wanted us to get nuked of face another 9/11.

It actually evens out, a gallon is more then a litre (I forget the exact measurement), like 2 and 1/2 litres make a gallon, so if America is 2 bucks a gallon and Canada is a dollar a litre, then that would be like 2.50.

In europe, in spain at least, gas is like 4 american dollars a gallon. Then again they don't drive as much as we do either.

If we are so limited on fossil fuels, then why is there all this Auto Racing. Nascar cars get 2 miles a gallon, if they are lucky. They run 500 miles on most races, 43 drivers per race, and 37 races a year. If you do the calculations that really adds up a whole lot. And thats just for NNC. You also have Busch series, Indy car, sprint car, and all sorts of other auto racing. I don't think our oil problems are as bad as everyone thinks.

By the way, what's a litre?

You got some weird logic going on right now.

Note: On the energy sheild suit thing, I was being sarcastic as hell. I mean, huh? I'm afraid I may need to start putting *Sarcasm* down so we don't get any misunderstandings.

But there are plenty of people that would say that if we developed some super-shielded-powered-armor and some extra-terrestrials came and decided to kill us... then those people would do what Moose said...

No... he said stuff like "Bush is gay, kerry rules!" when he has nothing to support comments like those. Plus Bush is married to a woman, so how could he be homosexual. Later on he says he is Canadian and doesn't know much about either of them. And then says it was stupid to fight a war against Hitler and Japan... wallbash.gif

The same reason people waste clean water on super soakers. It's not right, but people do it anyway because they're ignorant. You can't look up to celeberties and sports to figure out what's healthy.

1000 mililitres =P It's a measurment of liquid in the metric system. Which most countries have now switched to because it's easier to make calculations with. To put it into laymens terms, a pop can you would get from the vending machines has 355 ml in it.

Is it that it's just too expensive/energy consuming to clean any type of water? Or is like the water like getting permanently contaminated.

A topic about war, and we are talking about purifying water.....

Anyways...

War, was there. Is here. And always WILL be here. There is no way to get rid of war, because that is what humans are made for. War.

"But Humans are kind, and loving creatures." True, well, the majoraty is.

War is started by homosidal maniacs, who are corrupted by the power that has been endowed on them. They get a power trip. Just like any human would if you gave them control over something that they can abuse.

Then the reason the "Kind, and loving" populus of people fight, is to be "Patriotic" to their country, or leader.

Enough said. I don't wanna start bad-mouthing the president on how bad of a job he is doing right now.......

Off Topic Post
Water is always clean. It will always stay clean no matter what. Look at rivers for example. If you have sewage being dumped into a river, chances are, about 1-2 miles down the river, it will be clean again.

This is the natural process of all rivers, streams, lakes, ect... They will all clean out eventually.

And when water evaporates, does it get clean too?

Well, some places place a pool of sea water in these green houses and when the water evaporates, condensation forms and then you have water without the salty taste to them.

Oh god. Are you a moron? Take a cup of water. Fill it with sewage and waste. Now, put it in the sun. All you're left with is a really nasty cup. Guess what! Water evaporates, waste doesn't. Just because water has a relatively small evaporation point, why would everything else.
The only way to pollute rain is to have a heavy amount of factories pumping smog into the air. Besides, all of the water in the U.S.A. is so heavily filtered none of that matters. We re-use toilet and shower water, all of it. Wells are safe too, as the dirt acts as a natural filter, unless of course someone is dumb enough to put anything very close to the aquifer.

Anyways... back to the topic. War is not gonna stop until we manage to make nearly all of the population happy. Go ahead, try it. I dare you.
